About the role
We're hiring a Senior Content Marketing Manager to own and grow organic as a predictable revenue channel for Scale Army. This isn't a "manage the blog" role. You'll build and execute the strategy that turns organic — SEO, AEO, social, content, and whatever channels make sense — into a consistent source of pipeline. You've done this before. You know what it takes. And you're ready to make this brand yours.
The right team and structure to grow
You won't be building in a vacuum. You'll be joining a marketing team that already has the pieces in place — a social media manager, a CRO team, a growth team with paid media buyers, video production, and design capabilities. You'll have access to AI experts within the organization, and we work with external agencies and freelancers when the work calls for it.
The expectation is that you come in, take ownership, and use what's available to move fast. As the channel grows, the structure around it grows with it — and so does your role within it.
What you'll own
Organic as a Revenue Channel: Build and execute a strategy that makes organic a predictable, measurable contributor to pipeline — not just traffic. Set targets, own the roadmap, and report on what's moving the needle. Blog, SEO, social, webinars, newsletters — the channel mix is yours to define.
SEO + AEO — Deep Expertise Required. This is a core part of the role, not a checkbox. You'll own keyword strategy, content architecture, on-page and off-page SEO, and — critically — AI Engine Optimization: structuring content to rank and appear in AI-generated answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews, and what comes next). You know how LLMs crawl and cite content, and you build accordingly.
Content Strategy and Execution: Set editorial standards and own the content calendar across blog, SEO, and social. Write, review, and edit — you lead by doing. You don't need to be a social media specialist, but you know enough to guide the channel strategically and elevate whoever is executing it.
Conversion and Channel Alignment: Work with the CRO team to optimize conversion across organic traffic. Partner with paid media to amplify what's working organically. Ensure content is aligned with landing page messaging and funnel goals.
AI-Powered Workflows You use AI every day — not occasionally. You know how to prompt well, build efficient workflows, evaluate new tools critically, and implement what actually moves the needle. You'll bring this to the team and raise everyone's output.
What we're looking for
Experience 5+ years in content marketing, with at least 2 years in a senior role. Proven track record of growing organic traffic and turning it into a pipeline in a B2B or SaaS context. Deep, hands-on SEO and AEO expertise — not just familiarity. Experience owning and growing multiple organic channels end-to-end
Tools
Core stack — required: GA4, Google Search Console, HubSpot, WordPress, Looker Studio, Claude
SEO & AEO — you know this world: You have hands-on experience with SEO tools (Ahrefs, Semrush, Surfer SEO, Screaming Frog, or similar) and understand how to optimize for AI-generated answers across ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. We have our preferred tools, but we're open to yours.
AI content & workflow building: You've gone beyond prompting. You've used tools like Jasper, Ocoya, or similar for content production, and you've built actual workflows using Make, n8n, or Zapier — automating pipelines, not just connecting apps.
Mindset Ownership mentality — you treat the channel like it's your business. High standards for quality without sacrificing speed. Comfortable operating with ambiguity and building from scratch, You've done this before, and you're ready to do it again, better
What won't work here:
You're "familiar with AI tools" but haven't built workflows with them. You've managed content but haven't owned organic growth as a revenue function. You're looking to learn SEO on the job — you need to already know it. You want to strategize from the sidelines — this role requires you in the work
