Who We’re Looking For
Toyota Motor North America’s Corporate Communications division in Plano, TX, is looking for a highly motivated and qualified Internal Communications Analyst with strong writing, editing and content management skills.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support “One Toyota” internal communications initiatives by developing written and visual content for Toyota’s team member website and other internal channels in partnership with various stakeholders, including HR, Legal, Manufacturing and Sales, Toyota’s Senior Management team, Dealers and others.
Reporting to the Internal Communications Manager, the person in this role will support Corporate Communications’ objective to develop innovative communications programs for Toyota team members that promote transparency and open communication across the company while enhancing trust and collaboration in the spirit of “One Toyota.”
What You’ll Be Doing
Produce high-quality content and graphics for corporate use
Internal and external audience via the One Toyota Internal Communications Platform
External audience via Toyota and Lexus Newsrooms, Toyota.com
Collaborate with Internal Comms team members to develop new ways to tell stories. The goal is to inform, entertain and engage team members with a focus on advocacy.
Collaborate with Internal Comms team members to determine distribution channels, scheduling and analytics
Serve as One Toyota internal communications platform co-editor with duties that include editing, writing headlines, creating graphics and posting daily content.
Assist with global adoption of the One Toyota internal communications in areas such as Latin America, Europe and other locations where Toyota has operations.
Serve as a global excellence center lead for Toyota’s 14 North American Manufacturing Centers (NAMCs) in the One Toyota internal communications environment.
Support Toyota North America Business Update meetings – producing content and promotion on internal channels.
Write news briefs, feature stories and social media content covering Toyota’s products, people, business and advanced technology/mobility initiatives
Develop and pitch story ideas
Research subject matter
Interview sources. Build strong working relationships with sources
Get story approvals using diplomatic skills to balance desires of sources and needs of readers
Proofread and fact check stories
Write and distribute internal broadcast emails (i.e. Fast Facts, Office of the CEO)
Collaborate with publications, Toyota Newsroom, social media and intranet team members
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications or closely related field, or equivalent professional work experience in journalism or communications
3+ years of experience in journalism, public relations, or corporate communications (portfolio required to be submitted with application)
Excellent written and verbal communications skills
Keen attention to detail and accuracy
Prior experience with content creation, storytelling and employee advocacy
Previous experience interacting and building trusted relationships across all levels of the company
Previous experience meeting deadlines and working quickly while juggling multiple assignments
Experience using AP Style guidelines
Proficiency with MS Word, Outlook, and Excel
Previous experience with graphic design, Adobe Suite, Canva and PowerPoint
Ability and willingness to travel up to 10% of the time

Experience measuring and reporting content results
