Who we’re looking for
Toyota’s TMNA Body Production Engineering Department is looking for a passionate and motivated Quality Seibi Technician.
The primary responsibility of this role is to support new model Quality Seibi project activities at various U.S., Canada and Mexico NAMCs and Tool Vendors; including foster good communications and dimensional problem solving; support Kaizens; ensure safety; standardized work adherence; and utilize measurement equipment, part data and measurement data.
This role supports Quality Seibi activities for new model launches across North America, ensuring sheet metal body and sub-assembly dimensional accuracy meets or exceeds NAMC customer expectations. The position requires hands-on measurement expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to support cross-functional teams at multiple manufacturing sites and suppliers.
What you'll be doing
Communicate effectively with Quality Seibi technicians, management, and external partners to resolve dimensional issues
Support teamwork and continuous improvement through participation in training and development activities
Perform dimensional validation using FARO Arm, FARO Laser Tracker, checking fixtures, and weld tooling/equipment
Conduct part fitting activities within body weld operations
Participate in Quality Seibi project activities across NAMC plants and supplier locations
Maintain adherence to safety standards and standardized work
Travel up to 75% (U.S., Canada, Mexico, and occasional international travel)
Support business requirements including overtime (up to 50%), weekends, and holidays
What you bring
High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum 2-year experience operating FARO equipment and using PolyWorks software
Experience supporting Digital Buy-Off (DBO) activities and using C3 software
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Teams)
Experience using WinCMM to upload measurement data
Minimum 1 year experience setting up and using checking fixtures in body weld
Added bonus if you have
Associate degree (or higher) in a technical field
Toyota CW or Quality Investigations Group experience
