About the Client
Our Client is a New Zealand-based wedding planning platform with an attached vendor marketplace, allowing couples to organise all of their wedding vendors in one place. It was built by the team behind an established sister marketplace, an established marketplace connecting venues, pubs, and bars with musicians, DJs, and entertainers. The founder is hands-on across product development and sales, and is looking for a capable marketing VA to fully own social media execution and email marketing so the business can grow its online presence and vendor base. 
The Role
We are looking for a proactive and creative Social Media & Email Marketing VA to take full ownership of Our Client’s online presence. The ideal candidate is comfortable producing and repurposing content across multiple social platforms, setting up and managing email automations, and conducting targeted vendor outreach on Instagram, all with minimal handholding. This is a part-time role with real growth potential as Our Client scales.
 

Key Responsibilities

Social Media Management

  • Create, schedule, and publish content across Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, LinkedIn, and YouTube.
  • Develop engaging static graphics, carousel posts, Stories, Reels, and short-form video content.
  • Repurpose existing content, photography, and video assets into platform-specific content.
  • Write compelling captions, calls-to-action, and platform-optimised copy.
  • Apply Instagram SEO best practices, including keyword optimisation, hashtag research, and audience targeting.
  • Monitor engagement, respond to comments and messages, and foster community growth.
  • Maintain content calendars and ensure consistent posting schedules.
  • Monitor trends and recommend content opportunities to increase reach and engagement.

Email Marketing

  • Create and manage email marketing campaigns, newsletters, and promotional communications.
  • Build and maintain automated email sequences, workflows, and customer journeys.
  • Manage audience segmentation and subscriber lists.
  • Monitor campaign performance and optimise open rates, click-through rates, and conversions.
  • Ensure all email marketing activities align with brand messaging and marketing objectives.

Vendor Outreach & Relationship Building

  • Research and identify potential wedding vendors and industry partners.
  • Conduct outreach through Instagram and other relevant platforms.
  • Build and maintain relationships with prospective vendors and collaborators.
  • Track outreach activity and maintain accurate records.
  • Support marketplace growth through strategic engagement and partnership development.

Content Planning & Strategy

  • Assist with monthly content planning and campaign development.
  • Conduct competitor research and market analysis.
  • Identify opportunities to improve social media and email marketing performance.
  • Collaborate with the founder to execute marketing strategies and initiatives.

Reporting & Administration

  • Monitor social media and email marketing analytics.
  • Prepare monthly performance reports with actionable insights.
  • Maintain organised digital files, content libraries, and project documentation.
  • Support general marketing administration as required.
