This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Editor (Technical Marketing Content, contractor) based in the United States.

This role is centered on shaping and refining high-impact technical and marketing content for enterprise technology audiences.
You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure complex technical concepts are translated into clear, accurate, and compelling narratives.
The position plays a key role in maintaining consistency, quality, and clarity across a wide range of deliverables, from technical documentation to marketing assets.
You will be responsible for identifying key messages within dense content and elevating them for different target audiences.
A strong emphasis is placed on editorial precision, storytelling quality, and adherence to client-specific style and branding guidelines.
The role also involves reviewing content for accuracy, substantiation, and alignment with industry standards and best practices.
This is a remote freelance contract role with close collaboration across distributed teams, including those in Pacific Time zones.

Accountabilities:

  • Edit and refine a wide range of technical and marketing content to ensure clarity, consistency, grammar accuracy, tone alignment, and brand compliance.
  • Ensure content accuracy by identifying inconsistencies, missing information, or unsupported claims and coordinating necessary corrections.
  • Translate complex technical material into clear, audience-appropriate narratives while preserving key meaning and intent.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to review, polish, and finalize deliverables across formats such as presentations, infographics, videos, and written assets.
  • Verify substantiation of key claims and ensure proper referencing or approval for third-party content usage.
  • Review content for AI-generated artifacts or unnatural language patterns and revise to ensure natural, human-quality readability.
  • Apply and adapt to varying style guides, client requirements, and branding standards across multiple projects.
  • Maintain organization and prioritization across multiple concurrent editing assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Requirements:

    • 2+ years of experience in editing or content development within a technology, IT, or technical marketing environment.
    • Strong editorial skills with expertise in grammar, tone, clarity, structure, and storytelling.
    • Experience working with both technical content and marketing-focused materials in enterprise or B2B contexts.
    • Ability to extract key insights from complex content and distill them into clear, impactful messaging.
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and collaboration tools such as SharePoint.
    • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams.
    • Strong adaptability to new style guides, brand requirements, and editorial standards.
    • Bachelor’s degree in a writing, communications, journalism, or related field preferred.
    • Benefits:
