Who You Are

You will provide the organizational leadership, team-building vision, and operational drive to establish and expand our new European engineering hub in Dublin. In line with Verve’s site-centric location strategy, we build teams from the ground up by placing elite technical leaders on the floor first and empowering them to scale out high-performance engineering blocks.

 

In this role, you will take full people-management and strategic delivery ownership over our global Mobile SDK chapter—which includes established engineering pods across Hamburg and Bangalore—while aggressively hiring to build and expand your local footprint in Dublin.

 

We are hiring across two tracks for this leadership position depending on your depth of experience and scope of organizational ownership:

 

• Manager Level: You will focus heavily on local hub building, active team execution, mentorship, delivery velocity, and direct management of the engineering squad.
• Senior Manager Level: You will take on a broader strategic role, driving abstract organizational frameworks, defining high-level site strategies, managing cross-location resource allocations, and acting as an authoritative peer voice within global engineering leadership.

 

What You Will Do

• Hub Expansion & Talent Acquisition: Drive interview loops, establish rigorous local bars for talent, and aggressively build out the new Dublin Mobile/SDK pod from scratch. At the senior level, you will also lead strategic headcount planning, run predictive sourcing pipelines, and forecast talent growth models aligned with corporate budgets.
• Leadership & Distributed Team Management: Supervise, manage, and mentor engineers across our global, distributed Mobile SDK engineering chapter (Dublin, Bangalore, and Hamburg). Nurture a high-performance floor culture and run career progression pathways for engineers ranging from Level II up to Senior Level III ICs. At the senior level, you will define clear team charters, manage cross-location sprint capacity allocation, resolve structural resource conflicts, and build organizational resilience across global engineering boundaries.
• Process Refinement & Operational Discipline: Evaluate and refine the chapter’s day-to-day agile workflows, release cycles, and code-review safety loops. Ensure operational standards are met around release runbooks and automated validation gates. At the senior level, you will standardize organization-wide engineering delivery methodologies, establish global backwards-compatibility regression matrices, and institutionalize strict code quality governance.
• Strategic Product & Roadmap Partnership: Partner closely with Product Management and functional engineering heads to align the platform roadmap with core commercial goals, providing routine sprint breakdowns and delivery tracking. At the senior level, you will collaborate with Director and VP-level stakeholders to deliver multi-quarter resource estimations, technical feasibility look-aheads, and commercial investment assessments.
• Cross-Location Parity & Delivery Governance: Maintain technical synchronization across our multi-site engineering footprints, preventing feature or logic drift between our Android (.AAR libraries) and iOS (.xcframework targets) pipelines.
• Ecosystem Modernization & Architecture Oversight: Provide leadership governance for the execution of major platform transformations, including the structural integration of Google’s Android Privacy Sandbox and the framework packaging shift over to Swift Package Manager (SPM).
• Cultivate Innovation & AI Standards: Foster a progressive development ecosystem that safely and constructively leverages modern generative AI tools (Copilot, LLMs) to optimize unit test coverage, accelerate debugging infrastructure, and minimize administrative overhead.

 

What You Will Bring

Core Requirements (All Levels):

• Strong conceptual and architectural understanding of standalone library and mobile SDK compilation and distribution constraints (memory footprints, thread-safety primitives, process lifecycles, and silent exception routing).
• Proven experience working alongside continuous delivery models (GitHub Actions) and cloud infrastructure architectures (GCP).
• Direct domain exposure to programmatic ad tech, mediation adapter structures, or high-volume mobile monetization models is a major asset.
• A collaborative openness to navigate both Android and iOS code environments to ensure organizational synchronization.

 

Manager Level:

• 6+ years of total professional mobile software engineering experience.
• 1–2+ years of formal people-management, tech-lead-manager, or team-lead experience explicitly supervising engineering pods.
• Demonstrated ability to take complex feature requests and turn them into predictable, high-quality technical executions alongside your team.

 

Senior Manager Level:

• 8+ years of total professional mobile software engineering experience.
• 3+ years of dedicated, formal people-management experience explicitly focused on building and scaling mobile engineering teams.
• Proven track record of managing or heavily collaborating across distributed, cross-border engineering teams (such as coordinating work streams across EU and APAC sites).
• The execution autonomy and professional maturity to manage abstract engineering charters and scale out a critical strategic site location independently.
