Roles and Responsibilities
Identify, develop, evaluate, introduce, and manage engineering solutions for product control and control system technology needs. Apply control theory and mathematical modeling to design and control systems with desired behaviors. Includes operability, setting of boundaries, cycle optimization, control logic, control related software, sensors, hardware and software algorithms, and feedback to control the performance of devices, subsystems and systems.
Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.
Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.
Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.
Required Qualifications
This role requires significant experience in the Engineering/Technology & Controls Engineering. Knowledge level is comparable to a Master's degree from an accredited university or college ( or a high school diploma with relevant experience).

Essential Responsibilities
Manage the Engineering Quality Process within GEAC Design Organization identifying quality system improvement areas and supporting and leading the execution of the identified solutions
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration: Act as the interface between Engineering and the Quality System, Manufacturing Quality, and Supplier Quality teams to ensure alignment, integration and collaboration. Agree on the activities priorities with his/her hierarchical manager and with Head of Design, regularly share opportunities for improvement, findings and their corrective actions with the Head of Design.
Manage the process of control of Engineering’s design suppliers, assist in preparing working arrangements and interface documents (e.g., DOIDs).
Ensure training the personnel about the required regulatory requirements and about the requirements described in internal procedures Interface between the Design Organization and the Company Quality System Organization, supporting procedures updates and improvements
Promote a lean culture according to GE Aerospace FLIGHT DECK fostering a collaboration environment within the Design Organization and with the Corporate
Carry out continuous improvement with a particular focus to Safety Management System (SMS) and Information Security (PART IS)
Independently monitor that GEAC Design Organization Handbook and Design Management System is understood, workable within the Organization, followed and maintained in accordance with the applicable EASA Part 21 requirements. This perimeter includes Design Suppliers.
Define the yearly audits schedule to cover all the applicable Part 21 requirements in the agreed time frame with EASA and ensure that scheduled audits are performed by properly qualified Auditors
Ensure that DOA audit reports and raised findings are assigned to the Design Organization personnel, executed and closed on time Periodically report and eventually escalate to the Head of Design Organization (HDO) on the DOA monitoring results and status update
Support the Head of Airworthiness in the management of EASA audits performed to GEAC DOA and interact with EASA DOA Team Leader (DOATL), ensuring that raised findings are assigned to the Design Organization personnel, executed and closed
Support audit finding owners in the analysis of the root cause and in defining corrective action
Manage assigned resources defining clear priorities, growing career path and ensuring team safety
Qualifications/Requirements
Master’s Degree in related disciplines, Mechanical/Aeronautical/Management Engineering are preferred
Experience in aviation industry/Agencies
Comprehensive knowledge of Quality Management System and experience in aviation quality management system
Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of regulatory requirements coming from Commission Regulation (EU) No 748/2012 (EASA Part 21), particularly Awareness about the roles and responsibilities of the CIMF
Previous experience as part of or with an EASA Design Organization
Strong attitude to conflict resolution, with ability to structured problem solving and with high focus on operative details
Proven knowledge of Lean principles
Proven strong ability to read technical engineering documents (drawings, drafting standards, specifications…)
Previous experience on auditing process
Good command of spoken and written English
Ability to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines
Work Visa, in accordance with local regulation, is required
Desired Characteristics
Experience in engineering activities, including PART 21 Subpart J
Familiarity with Configuration Management policies and principles
Familiarity with Quality System standards: EN9100 certification, Policy & Procedures management (Aviation sector preferred)
Czech language speaker
Direct working experience with EASA
Experience working with engine component design suppliers
Demonstrated experience creating company procedures
