Job Purpose
This associate will be responsible for daily operations in the group dedicated to making engineering judgements (test reports, defect analysis, etc) that ensure the outgoing product meets Honda performance and quality requirements and ensuring that those judgements are reflected systemically to:
- Manufacturing Quality Standards (MQS)
- In-house drawings as needed
- Change request databases (Hin an hyo, CRF, etc.)
- Design Change Management System
- Implementation protocols and confirmation of countermeasure effectiveness.
This associate is also responsible for the output of direct reports, managing expenses and investments related to the group, and executing business plan themes.
Key Accountabilities
- Review MQS Flow Deliverables (PPH, FTA, MQS Issuances/Returns, PQC-V) before proceeding to management
- New Model project work (Change Point Review, New Tech Investigation, PL, etc)
- Review In-house drawings before issuance
- Supporting complex problems for MQS/Spec group
- Design change administration and oversight (CRF, Hin an hyo, DCMS)
- Review Business Plan, Budget, Training plans
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills
- 2 years’ experience with BS Engineering (mechanical, electrical, aerospace, mechatronic, industrial) OR
- 6+ years in quality and/or product engineering environments
- Manufacturing Experience – 3 years
Other Job-Specific Skills
- Understanding of Honda’s Quality System, including Honda Engineering Standards, part specifications, design unit construction, Honda Design Control Management System, and Countermeasure Request systems
- During new model timing, determine which parts need to have additional quality control to ensure design intent
- Past Trouble History compilation (QIC, GDP, Market, etc) and FTA generation
- Create, review, and issue Manufacturing Quality Standards to communicate control points
- Create, issue, and track design change requests from QE, suppliers, and in-house departments to R&D, which includes Hin an hyo’s and DCR’s during new model timing and CRFs during mass production
- Knowledge of the Design Change Management System and Manufacturing Instructions workflows
- New model product development experience
- Proficiency in Catia V5 or other similar 3D modelling experience
- Understanding of Power Products, All Terrain Vehicles, and/or Side by Side systems and structure as needed
- Microsoft Office knowledge – proficiency with: Excel, Powerpoint, Word
- Understanding of manufacturing processes and product knowledge
- Basic understanding of product development process (stages and milestones)
- Ability to multi-task
