POSITION SUMMARY

The Manufacturing Quality Engineer will participate in the execution of Airtech’s quality management processes and contribute to the continued improvement of the quality management system. This role will be focusing on product and process quality, while supporting Customer Quality Engineer on customer complaints and requests.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Process Quality Management:

  • Manage the corrective action process to ensure timely and effective resolution
  • Support the disposition of non-conforming materials
  • Partner with Engineering to assess product and process risks and implement appropriate control plans
  • Develop and maintain Process Failure Mode and Effects Analyses (PFMEAs) with Manufacturing and New Product Development teams
  • Participate in the review of product and process change requests
  • Manage data collection (including SPC), analysis, and improvement activities
  • Issue quality alerts in response to customer complaints and process deviations
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for quality-related matters on the production floor

Product Quality Management

  • Perform internal product audits
  • Support Supplier Quality, Product Design Engineering, and New Product Development/Introduction by ensuring alignment between product requirements and material specifications
  • Troubleshoot and drive resolution of manufacturing-related quality issues

Quality Inspection, GD&T, SPC

  • Support the calibration and ongoing monitoring of measurement equipment
  • Manage data collection (including SPC), analysis, and continuous improvement efforts
  • Initiate and support engineering changes to ensure accurate GD&T application on drawings
  • Drive improvements in inspection processes and measurement methods

Reporting and Improvement

  • Participate in daily GEMBA walks and maintain the Quality GEMBA board
  • Provide monthly reports on quality performance, improvement initiatives, and problem-solving activities
  • Identify opportunities to enhance the Quality Management System and drive continuous improvement
  • Develop and present quality data during Management Review meetings
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives for assigned product and process lines

QMS (Quality Management System)

  • Facilitate ISO 9001 certification audits
  • Perform internal process and quality system audits and maintain the internal audit plan
  • Own and maintain quality processes, procedures, work instructions, and records

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
  • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, problem-solving methodologies, and tools
  • Working knowledge of testing best practices and defect management processes
  • Experience with ISO 9001 or similar quality management systems
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment with strong interpersonal skills
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Proven ability to resolve issues and contribute to process improvement initiatives
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group settings

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related discipline required
  • 5–8 years of relevant experience in manufacturing or quality enigneering
  • Experience with root cause analysis, GD&T, measurement systems, SPC, and lean manufacturing preferred
  • Experience with Coordinate Measurement Machine (CMM) programming and quality gauge preferred
  • ISO 9001 / AS9100 / IATF 16949 / ISO 13485 auditor certification preferred

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $109,800.00 - $164,600.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
