Job Description: 

We are seeking a Manufacturing Quality and Reliability Engineer to ensure manufacturing excellence through quality management, data analysis, and cross-functional collaboration. This role is essential in maintaining high production standards while supporting the transition from development to high-volume manufacturing and driving continuous process improvements. Primary Responsibilities :

1. Quality Management :

  • Manage manufacturing excursions and containment activities
  • Conduct risk assessments and ensure proper disposition of non-conforming materials
  • Monitor and resolve hold conditions to minimize production impact
  • Support manufacturing compliance through floor audits and quality assessments
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to prevent quality issues recurrence

2. New Product Introduction and Manufacturing Readiness :

  • Lead quality aspects of new product startup activities and manufacturing readiness assessments
  • Support product transfer from development to production environments
  • Establish quality control plans and inspection criteria for new products
  • Coordinate cross-functional readiness reviews and gate approvals
  • Validate manufacturing processes and equipment for new product launches
  • Develop and implement quality metrics and monitoring systems for new products

3. Process Improvement and Optimization :

  • Identify and drive manufacturing process improvement opportunities
  • Analyze process capability and implement statistical process control measures
  • Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize manufacturing workflows
  • Benchmark best practices and implement standardized processes across production lines
  • Drive cost reduction initiatives while maintaining quality standards

4. Data Analysis and Process Improvement :

  • Utilize statistical analysis and data analytics, including machine learning techniques
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify trends and drive decision-making - Generate comprehensive reports and presentations for stakeholders
  • Support reliability stress testing and data collection activities
  • Develop predictive models for quality and reliability forecasting

5. Cross-Functional Collaboration :

  • Partner with engineering teams in product development forums
  • Coordinate with manufacturing and shift teams to address urgent quality issues
  • Provide technical recommendations to enhance system and product reliability
  • Address customer-reported manufacturing issues to improve overall experience
  • Lead cross-functional problem-solving teams for complex quality challenges

6. Technical Documentation and Project Management :

  • Prepare detailed technical reports including 8D analyses and excursion summaries - Maintain quality documentation and process procedures
  • Support physical lot readiness and system reliability activities
  • Manage multiple quality projects simultaneously with defined timelines and deliverables
  • Create and maintain process flow diagrams, control plans, and work instructions

Qualifications:

Minimum Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering (Electrical and electronic, Micro-E, Materials, Mechanical, Chemical, related field)
  • Previous manufacturing or quality engineering experience
  • Knowledge of quality management systems and manufacturing processes
  • Experience with new product introduction processes

  • Quality Engineering Tools and Methodologies
  • Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) - Process and Design FMEA development and implementation
  • Process Control Systems (PCS) - Statistical Process Control (SPC) and process capability analysis
  • Quality Management Systems (QMS) - ISO 9001, TS 16949, or equivalent standards
  • Customer-facing quality support - handling customer complaints, audits, and quality reviews

Data Analysis and Technical Tools

  • Proficiency in data analysis tools: Excel, PowerPoint, JMP, SQL
  • Statistical analysis and problem-solving capabilities
  • Experience with scripting programs and automation tools

Quality Systems and Documentation

  • Control plan development and maintenance
  • Work instruction creation and process documentation
  • Root cause analysis techniques (8D, 5-Why, Fishbone)
  • Supplier quality management and assessment
