Job Overview

As a Principal DT Project Manager, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of Digital Technology at RTX by leading complex, enterprise-wide projects that deliver meaningful business outcomes.

In this role, you will oversee the full project lifecycle—from planning and governance to execution and delivery—while collaborating with cross-functional teams across RTX. You will manage Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), drive risk mitigation strategies, oversee project financials, and provide strategic guidance to stakeholders and senior leadership. This is an exciting opportunity to lead digital transformation initiatives while fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and execution excellence.

What You Will Do

  • Lead one or more Digital Technology transformation projects, ensuring successful delivery of business objectives on time and within budget.
  • Develop and maintain Integrated Master Schedules (IMS), project milestones, critical paths, and key performance metrics.
  • Drive project governance using the Raytheon Lifecycle Program Management (RLPM) operating model, including financial management, vendor coordination, and risk mitigation.
  • Monitor project scope, schedule, budget, and performance while conducting variance analysis and forecasting project outcomes.
  • Manage project financials, including Estimate at Complete (EAC) and compliance with capital financial reporting requirements.
  • Establish and maintain Risk & Opportunity registers, issue logs, and mitigation plans to proactively address project challenges.
  • Collaborate with global cross-functional teams, stakeholders, and subcontractors to align priorities and ensure seamless project execution.
  • Present project status, key risks, and recommendations to senior leadership to support timely decision-making.
  • Resolve conflicts, foster collaboration, and motivate teams toward achieving common goals.
  • Drive continuous process improvement initiatives leveraging RTX's Customer Oriented Results and Excellence (CORE) operating system.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, or a related field with 7+ years of relevant experience, OR
  • Advanced Degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience.
  • 5+ years of experience leading Digital Technology projects, including:
    • Infrastructure initiatives
    • ERP implementations
    • Software development projects
  • Experience managing project financials, budgeting, and forecasting resource demand.
  • Strong understanding of project lifecycle management, scheduling, and risk management.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multicultural, global, and matrixed environment.
  • Proficiency with project management tools such as:
    • MS Project
    • Planview
    • JIRA
    • Smartsheet
    • Microsoft Office Suite

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in Aerospace, Manufacturing, or Technology industries.
  • Experience leading Digital Transformation, SAP, and/or Data Analytics projects in a cross-functional environment.
  • Experience presenting project status, issues, and resolution plans to senior leadership and key stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of both Waterfall and Agile project delivery methodologies.
  • Familiarity with process improvement methodologies such as:
    • Six Sigma
    • Lean
    • Total Quality Management (TQM)
  • Active Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance employees, as they are essential to the development of our products.

Hybrid: Employees who are working in Hybrid roles will work regularly both onsite and offsite.  Ratio of time working onsite will be determined in partnership with your leader.

Remote: Employees who are working in Remote roles will work primarily offsite (from home).  An employee may be expected to travel to the site location as needed.
