Scrum Master and Agile Coach
What You'll Do:
Agile Facilitation & Team Leadership
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies including daily standups, sprint planning, retrospectives, and sprint reviews using Jira dashboards and boards
Coach development teams, product owners, and stakeholders on agile principles and Scrum best practices
Remove impediments and blockers that slow down team progress, tracking them in Jira for visibility and resolution
Foster a culture of collaboration, transparency, and continuous improvement
Shield the team from external distractions and ensure they can focus on sprint commitments
Jira Administration & Optimization
Design, configure, and maintain Jira workflows that align with team processes and organizational standards
Create and manage Scrum boards, Kanban boards, and custom filters to optimize team visibility
Build and maintain Jira dashboards that provide real-time insights into sprint progress, team velocity, and delivery metrics
Configure issue types, custom fields, screen schemes, and permission schemes to support various project needs
Establish and enforce Jira hygiene practices including proper story point estimation, status updates, and documentation standards
Train team members on effective Jira usage and best practices
Metrics, Reporting & Continuous Improvement
Generate sprint reports including burndown charts, velocity reports, and cumulative flow diagrams in Jira
Analyze team metrics to identify bottlenecks, trends, and opportunities for improvement
Create executive-level reports and dashboards from Jira data to communicate team performance and delivery health
Track and report on key agile metrics such as cycle time, lead time, throughput, and sprint commitment reliability
Use Jira automation rules to streamline repetitive tasks and improve workflow efficiency
Facilitate retrospectives using data from Jira to drive actionable improvements
Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the liaison between IT teams and business stakeholders, ensuring clear communication and alignment
Manage dependencies across multiple teams using Jira's linking and hierarchy features
Coordinate with other Scrum Masters and Project Managers to align on cross-team initiatives
Ensure product backlog is well-maintained, prioritized, and ready for sprint planning in Jira
Partner with Product Owners to refine user stories, acceptance criteria, and definition of done
What You'll Bring:
Required Qualifications
5 to 7 years of experience as a Scrum Master in an IT or software development environment
Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM), or equivalent agile certification
Expert-level proficiency with Jira including boards, workflows, automation, JQL (Jira Query Language), and reporting
Deep understanding of Scrum framework, agile methodologies, and lean principles
Proven track record of successfully leading agile teams through multiple release cycles
Strong facilitation, coaching, and conflict resolution skills
Excellent communication skills with ability to influence at all organizational levels
Experience tracking and analyzing agile metrics to drive team improvements
Preferred Qualifications
Jira Administrator certification or equivalent hands-on experience
Experience with Jira integrations (Confluence, etc.)
Knowledge of Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) or other scaling methodologies
Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines
Experience with Jira automation, ScriptRunner, or other Jira add-ons
Background in software development, QA, or IT infrastructure
Advanced agile certifications (A-CSM, CSP, SAFe Scrum Master)
Experience with agile portfolio management in Jira
Technical Skills
Advanced Jira configuration and administration
JQL query writing and optimization
Jira dashboard creation and data visualization
Understanding of API integrations and automation capabilities
Proficiency with Confluence for documentation and knowledge sharing
Basic understanding of software development lifecycle and IT operations
