Sr. Technical Program Manager, Trust & Safety

Match Group · Los Angeles, California

Our Mission

As humans, there are few things more exciting than meeting someone new. At Tinder, we’re inspired by the challenge of keeping the magic of human connection alive. With tens of millions of users, hundreds of millions of downloads, 2+ billion swipes per day, 20+ million matches per day, and a presence in 190+ countries, our reach is expansive—and rapidly growing.

We work together to solve complex problems. Behind the simplicity of every match, we think deeply about human relationships, behavioral science, network economics, AI and ML, online and real-world safety, cultural nuances, loneliness, love, sex, and more.

Our Values

  • Take the Lead: We don't ghost our work or each other. Just as users don't leave their matches hanging, we don't let each other down.
  • Move Fast: We have a bias for action and urgency. Something that could be done tomorrow would be better if done today.
  • Better Together: We keep connection at the heart of dating and at the heart of how we work. Just as our users are better when they connect with others, so are we when we collaborate.
  • Real Talk: We say the hard thing the human way. Just as we ask our users to behave with kindness and candor in our community, we expect Team Tinder to do the same.
  • Safety First: We act with integrity, transparency, and consistency so people feel safe—whether they're swiping, matching, or working alongside us.
  • Spark Fun: We have fun to unlock creativity, fuel innovation, and help us build better experiences for daters.

The Role:

At Tinder, Trust & Safety is foundational to what we do. As a Senior TPM, you will partner with Product, Engineering, Design, and Analytics, as well as cross-functional stakeholders from Ops, Policy, and Legal to build and scale the infrastructure that keeps Tinder a safe place to spark something new with someone new, protecting our members from bad actors, harassment, and fraud.

We are looking for a candidate who can synthesize fragmented threads and tasks, organize unstructured, ad-hoc work, and respond to rapidly changing priorities. The ideal candidate will evaluate what’s working well from an execution standpoint and build on it, closing operational gaps and removing friction, while keeping all plates effortlessly spinning in the air.

Where You'll Work:

This is a hybrid role and requires in-office collaboration three days per week. This position is located in Los Angeles, CA, though we also have offices in San Francisco and Palo Alto.

In this role, you will:

  • Support end-to-end delivery for critical initiatives across safety product development, account integrity and identity, anti-abuse detection and mitigation, and moderation operations.
  • Own operational structure and hygiene by establishing consistent standards for tracking product roadmap initiatives, investigation findings, mitigation tasks, and infrastructure adjustments.
  • Partner with analysts, PMs, and engineers to coordinate the end-to-end lifecycle of abuse investigations—from initial detection through investigation, mitigation, and follow-ups—maintaining organizational visibility into progress and status.
  • Identify and coordinate inter-team dependencies while driving launch readiness and rollouts. You will own strategic alignment with key team members, including creating plans, managing risks, and refining communication models to ensure successful delivery.
  • Build and implement frameworks that drive operational excellence, systematically closing gaps and strengthening operational rhythms through subtle, high-impact refinements that don’t disrupt the team’s high-velocity culture.
  • You'll need:

  • 6+ years of experience in Technical Program Management, preferably within Trust & Safety, Integrity, or Security domains.
  • Hands-on experience with high-scale backend systems, distributed architectures, and managing complex technical dependencies.
  • Proven ability to seamlessly integrate into existing team workflows, building trust through collaboration.
  • Demonstrated success in cultivating strong cross-functional relationships and influencing outcomes in fast-paced, ambiguous environments, driven by thoughtfulness, an entrepreneurial mindset, and persistent execution.
  • Expert-level proficiency in managing cross-functional projects using tools like Jira.
  • The ability to synthesize complex technical risks and architecture decisions into actionable insights for less-technical stakeholders.
  • Deep experience creating delivery plans (including identifying trade-offs and managing risks), dependency maps, and release plans.
  • Expertise in agile methodologies and a deep understanding of software development best practices.
  • Nice to have:

  • B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Deep understanding of safety reporting, messaging, and account verification workflows in a mobile-first environment.
  • Familiarity with maintaining SLAs for mission-critical safety services.
  • Understanding of system design and the ability to meaningfully contribute to technical discussions.
  • Deep understanding of collaboration management tools such as JIRA, Confluence, Google Suite, and Figma.
  • Experience leveraging AI-powered tools (e.g., specialized LLMs) to automate routine program management tasks, improve documentation quality, and accelerate cross-functional communication.
  • As a full-time employee, you’ll enjoy:

  • Flexible Vacation, 10 Sick Days
  • Time off to volunteer and charitable donations matched up to $15,000 annually
  • Comprehensive health, vision, and dental coverage
  • 100% 401(k) employer match up to 10%, Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • 100% paid parental leave (including for non-birthing parents) and family forming benefits
  • Investment in your development: mentorship through our MentorMatch program, access to 6,000+ online courses through Udemy, and an annual $3,000 stipend for your professional development
  • Investment in your wellness: access to mental health support via Modern Health, paid concierge medical membership, pet insurance, fitness membership subsidy, and commuter subsidy
