HS/GED plus 4 yrs Pharmacy Tech Experience or Bachelor's Degree in Pharmaceutical Sciences;
1 year to obtain ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician training or certificate program;
National Technician Certification (PTCB);

Responsibilities:
Assist the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager with maintaining specialty pharmacy accreditation to meet current standards set forth by accreditation bodies. This includes helping to establish detailed workflows, providing staff training, setting deadlines to meet standards, and developing and maintaining policies and procedures.
Responsible for assisting the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager with program oversight to ensure accreditation standards and policies are being met and maintained through monthly audits of patient records, billing/coding records, and policy and procedure maintenance.
Maintains strict confidentiality of all sensitive information accessed through job duties, including employee, patient, student, operational, compliance, and audit-related information. Applies the same standards of confidentiality internally as required under HIPAA, FERPA, and organizational privacy policies, and does not disclose, discuss, or share information with unauthorized individuals.
Assist the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager with submitting applications and all required documents needed to maintain/seek accreditation, including necessary documents for initial desktop review, on-site validation reviews, and required documents in response to accreditation findings.
Act as an alternative liaison between UAMS Specialty Pharmacy and the UAMS Learning Management team to ensure appropriate staff training is assigned and completed in Workday if the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager is unavailable.
Maintain, along with and under the supervision of the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager, an accreditation readiness program, including completion of yearly gap analysis of policy, procedures, and workflows to ensure compliance with annual updates to regulatory laws and accreditation standards.
Gather, analyze, and trend reporting data under the supervision of the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager for accreditation metrics, including dispensing and distribution errors, patient/provider/employee satisfaction data, patient/provider complaint data, and infection control data.
Assists in managing all aspects of medication distribution to be in compliance with accreditation standards, including development of cold chain and room temperature testing, policy and procedure development, and packing and shipping audits. Ensure correct stability decisions are made regarding shipments. Review outcomes of testing and audits to create quality improvement processes for medication distribution.
Responsible for handling all error reporting, including through internal reporting programs and to the UAMS HIPAA Office, in the absence of the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager. Assists in the development of action plans for dispensing error, distribution error, and HIPAA violation metrics that result in exceeding accreditation goals.
Assists with maintaining required logs for monthly accreditation maintenance, including analyzing and trending data reported in these logs.
Contributes to the implementation of patient satisfaction, employee satisfaction, and provider satisfaction surveys to maintain accreditation compliance.
Contributes to quality improvement action plans and quality improvement projects in response to findings related to pharmacy workflow needs and metric deficiencies.
Supports the development and maintenance of objective and subjective outcome reporting for the patient management program, including identifying best practices and mechanisms for reporting accreditation-required data to internal and external entities.
Serves as a daily resource to staff for the resolution of pharmacy compliance and accreditation problems.
Assists with preparing, conducting, and overseeing any audits that a drug-specific Risk Evaluation and Mitigation Strategies (REMS) program requires.
Collaborates with data personnel to support required metric reporting to internal and external payers and accreditation bodies.
Responsible for documenting payer audit reviews under the supervision of the Accreditation, Compliance, and Education Manager.
Collaborates with specialty pharmacy leadership to ensure appropriate re-credentialing with specialty payers and network access.
May perform other duties as assigned.
