Senior Product Manager - Payments

Kraken · United Kingdom

Building the Future of Open Finance

Payward - the parent company behind Kraken, NinjaTrader, Breakout, xStocks, Payward Services and CF Benchmarks - has spent the last 15 years building one of the most modern and globally accessible financial infrastructure platforms in the industry, built to advance an open, global financial system.

Before you apply, we encourage you to explore our culture page to understand what drives us and how we work.

The Team

Founded in 2011, Kraken is one of the world's longest-standing crypto platforms, trusted by over 10 million individuals and institutions across the globe. It offers spot trading, margin, futures, staking, and OTC services, with products built for both individual investors and institutional clients.

We are currently seeking an experienced Product Manager to join our growing Payments & Blockchain team to be focused on unlocking faster, easier, and more reliable access to our platform across global markets. By owning a portfolio of payment rails - both by method and geography - you’ll directly influence how customers make payments to and from their accounts, and how efficiently those flows scale with the business.

The Payments & Blockchain team is responsible for the first and last mile of every dollar (digital or fiat) that goes in or out of Kraken.

As a member of this team, you will be responsible for driving initiatives that enable best in class local payments, improve success rates, reduce friction in user journeys, and generally adapt our payments infrastructure to meet the diverse needs of users - from first-time retail customers to high-volume institutional partners. This is an opportunity to lead cross-functional efforts spanning backend integrations, partner onboarding, frontend UX, and compliance-sensitive flows for all Kraken users alike.

The Opportunity

As a Product Manager in our Payments team, you’ll play a critical role in unlocking faster, easier, and more reliable access to our platform across global markets. By owning a portfolio of payment rails—both by method and geography—you’ll directly influence how customers fund and withdraw from their accounts, and how efficiently those flows scale with the business.

You’ll drive initiatives that improve authorization rates, reduce friction in user journeys, and adapt our payments infrastructure to meet the diverse needs of users—from first-time retail customers to high-volume institutional partners. Your work will not only enhance the day-to-day experience for users but also directly impact key business metrics such as conversion, retention, and revenue.

This is an opportunity to lead cross-functional efforts spanning backend integrations, partner onboarding, frontend UX, and compliance-sensitive flows. You’ll collaborate deeply with engineering, design, fraud, and compliance teams to ensure that payment experiences are high-performing, secure, and built for scale.

We’re looking for someone with strong domain expertise in payments, a user-first mindset, and a track record of driving measurable impact. Experience in card acquiring or LATAM payment ecosystems is a plus, but we welcome specialists across a broad range of payment modalities.

• Own and evolve a set of payment rails across both specific methods and geographic regions

• Lead partner integrations and manage relationships with payment processors, acquirers, and banking partners

• Drive continuous improvement of authorization rates, settlement speed, and overall user conversion

• Collaborate with fraud and compliance teams to ensure payment flows meet security, regulatory, and operational standards

• Drive UX enhancements through structured experimentation and customer insights

• Ensure payment capabilities are scalable and adaptable across our consumer app, pro trading app, and external interfaces such as on/off-ramps

• Use data to inform prioritization, track performance, and iterate toward better outcomes

What you’ll bring

• 3+ years of product management experience, with a focus on payments, fintech, or financial infrastructure

• Deep domain expertise in payment systems and rails, including bank transfers, card networks, and/or alternative payment methods

• Experience working on both backend systems (e.g. payment orchestration, API integrations) and user-facing features

• A strong customer-centric mindset, with a focus on simplicity, trust, and conversion in payment flows

• Collaborative and effective across engineering, design, fraud, compliance, and operations

• Comfortable working with data to define and measure product impact

Unless a specific application deadline is stated in the job posting, applications are accepted on an ongoing basis.

Please note, applicants are permitted to redact or remove information on their resume that identifies age, date of birth, or dates of attendance at or graduation from an educational institution.
