This role offers an opportunity to shape and govern a large-scale GitHub Enterprise ecosystem that supports modern software development practices across a complex organization. As the owner of the GitHub platform, you will define standards, security frameworks, automation strategies, and developer workflows that drive consistency, efficiency, and compliance. Accountabilities:
- Own and manage the end-to-end GitHub Enterprise platform strategy, including organizational structure, repository governance, and integration architecture.
- Define, implement, and maintain standards for repository configuration, development workflows, and platform usage across engineering teams.
- Design and oversee platform security controls, including secrets management, code scanning, compliance guardrails, and pipeline-based security practices.
- Establish remediation frameworks and governance processes to address security findings and operational risks consistently across the platform.
- Create and evolve reusable workflows, automation capabilities, and GitHub Copilot Agent strategies to improve developer productivity and platform adoption.
- Continuously assess emerging GitHub features, security requirements, and industry best practices to enhance platform capabilities and governance standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across engineering, security, and operations functions to ensure alignment between platform strategy and organizational objectives.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of recent experience owning, managing, or architecting GitHub Enterprise environments at organizational scale.
- Deep expertise in GitHub Enterprise administration, repository governance, workflow automation, and enterprise platform management.
- Strong understanding of DevOps methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, infrastructure automation, and software development lifecycle best practices.
- Experience designing and implementing security controls, code scanning solutions, secrets protection mechanisms, and compliance frameworks within GitHub environments.
- Knowledge of GitHub Actions, reusable workflows, automation patterns, and developer productivity tooling, including AI-assisted development capabilities.
- Proven ability to establish platform standards, governance models, and scalable operating procedures across large engineering organizations.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to balance security, compliance, developer experience, and operational efficiency.
