VGS is the world's leader in payment tokenization. Large banks, aspiring fintechs, and growing merchants embed our universal token vault into their technology stack to manage the complexities of payment data tokenization across processors and networks, open banking, card issuance, omnichannel loyalty, PCI compliance, payment orchestration, and more. We empower our clients and partners by tokenizing sensitive payment data, limiting compliance scope, and consolidating payments to unlock revenue and business opportunities.
VGS provides processor-agnostic tokenization solutions via secure universal token vaults, iframes, mobile SDKs, tokenization proxies, APIs, and data orchestration tooling to support payment acceptance, card issuance, PII and bank account tokenization, and other payments value-added services. Some of the use cases we enable include multi-processor Network Tokenization, Account Updater, payment orchestration, secure settlement file processing, 3DS, and Risk provider connectivity.
We are seeking a founding Product Operations Lead to join our team. You will define and own the operational backbone of the Product organization, working closely with Product, Engineering, Design, and Go to Market to build the systems, cadences, and standards that help teams execute consistently and at high quality. Rather than focusing on a single product area, you’ll work across the breadth of VGS, identifying patterns and shaping how the company builds, ships, and operates products.
This role is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity, thinks in systems rather than tickets, and wants to improve product outcomes through leverage instead of org charts. You’ll be trusted to independently identify the highest-impact problems, define structure where none exists, and drive improvements that raise the bar for product quality, reliability, and customer experience across VGS.
You will own three things above all else: the rigor that makes high-velocity shipping sustainable, the measurement infrastructure that tells us whether our products are succeeding after they launch, and the planning systems that keep our roadmap and revenue plan sharp, funded, and aligned across the company.
Develop and maintain systems and processes to track product performance
Partner with Product, Engineering, Client Operations, and Sales to set targets and prioritize action plans to achieve them
Own and evolve the operating system used by Product to plan, track, and communicate work, including roadmaps, planning artifacts, and execution tracking (in close partnership with Engineering)
Design and run lightweight operating cadences (e.g., planning cycles, product reviews, execution check-ins)
Improve visibility into priorities, progress, and decisions across the product organization without adding unnecessary process
Define and own the PM tool stack, evolving the tools and workflows that PMs use every day to ensure the function is operating effectively
Identify where automation, AI/agents, and other new workflows can materially change how product ideas are surfaced and translate those ideas into adopted capabilities.
Build systems that capture and share high-quality product work (e.g., great PRDs) and decisions across teams, helping raise the bar and accelerate learning.
Own and improve core product development processes, tooling, and team rituals (planning cycles, monthly reviews, roadmap prioritization, etc.)
Drive cross-functional alignment between Product, Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Success
Facilitate roadmap planning by coordinating stakeholder inputs and maintaining transparency across the org
Design and run Early Access Programs and alpha testing programs that validate product-market fit and surface refinement signals before broad release
Own launch coordination end-to-end — ensuring timely, high-confidence rollouts with clear success metrics and post-launch monitoring
Maintain cross-team roadmap visibility that keeps clients, delivery teams, and leadership aligned on what's shipping and why
8+ years of experience in Product Operations, Program Management (within a Product organization), or a similar role
Experience in fast-moving, product-led organizations with an emphasis on minimum necessary process
Strong systems thinker who can design operating models that scale without adding bureaucracy
Proven scrappy executor who takes ownership and gets things done
Comfort operating in ambiguity and building from a blank page
Clear, concise communicator with strong written and verbal skills
Strong product instincts and empathy for Product Managers and cross-functional partners
Prior payments experience and the curiosity to build a deep understanding of VGS’s products
Qualities (intangibles)
Tenacity
You use spreadsheets in your personal life to track and figure things out
You turn in your work early and can’t understand why others wait until the last minute
You don’t stop until the task is finished
Outlook
You see what can be improved and want to do something about it
You balance the “art of the possible” with “what’s going to move the needle”
You prefer to work the problem as a team rather than receive accolades for your solo efforts
Temperament
You care deeply about a job well done
You are willing to share your perspective openly and respectfully
When a debate reaches its conclusion, you commit to the next step
You seek excellence in yourself and your work, and you have the discernment to know what “good” looks like across a complex ecosystem -> you accept that rates of change vary
