Product Builder- AI | Product Management- 10306

Extreme Networks · Chennai, India

Experience: 3–8 Years

THE ROLE

We're hiring a Product Builder to join the Platform team. This is a builder role—not a requirements-writer role. You will take a problem from idea to a validated, engineering-ready prototype independently, using AI tools as your primary accelerant.

Extreme's Platform powers enterprise-grade network management across the full lifecycle, including onboarding, configuration, monitoring, identity, alerts, notifications, and more. You don't need to be an expert across all of it. You need to ramp quickly, think clearly, and hand engineering work they can act on without ambiguity.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

Frame the Problem

  • Turn customer feedback, usage data, and business goals into a clear problem statement.
  • Use AI tools (Claude, Pendo, Perplexity) to draft your first PRD and user stories—in hours, not days.
  • Validate your framing asynchronously with stakeholders before building anything.

Build the Solution

  • Generate a clickable low-fidelity prototype using AI design tools constrained to the platform design system—or, where appropriate, a production-grade working build using AI coding tools, real APIs, and synthetic data.
  • Understand which level of fidelity the problem requires: a low-fidelity prototype to align on direction, or a functional build to de-risk engineering assumptions before production development begins.
  • Use synthetic data to simulate realistic platform states, including dashboards with live-looking telemetry, alert flows with real trigger logic, and configuration screens with actual response shapes.
  • Show the solution—don't describe it. Stakeholders and customers react to working builds and prototypes, not documents.
  • Surface edge cases, design conflicts, and open questions before development starts.

Hand Off with Clarity

  • Lock acceptance criteria before the feature enters the engineering queue.
  • Deliver production-ready specifications through the User Experience quality gate with no ambiguity.

Contribute to the Team

  • Participate in regular cross-domain reviews to identify overlap and pattern conflicts.
  • Start with one feature through the full workflow, prove the process, and then expand.

Work Across the Stack

  • Partner closely with UX, Design Systems, QA, and Platform Engineering teams to move a feature from prototype to production.

HOW WE WORK

Five Phases. One Handoff to Engineering.

01. Discover & Frame

  • AI-assisted product specifications
  • User stories
  • Problem statement

02. Build Lo-Fi or Working Build

  • AI-generated prototypes
  • Functional builds using APIs and synthetic data

03. UX Quality Gate

  • Design fidelity
  • Accessibility
  • Cross-service consistency
  • Reviewed with UX and EDS teams before handoff

04. Engineering Handoff

  • Specifications linked to design system components
  • Locked acceptance criteria

05. Build & Validate

  • User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
  • Customer validation
  • Spot QA

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR

Must-Haves

  • You build before you write.
  • You use AI tools as everyday equipment, not a party trick.
  • You ramp up on new domains quickly and ask the right questions.
  • You write with precision—requirements and asynchronous updates that leave no room for misinterpretation.
  • You operate independently without waiting for meetings to move work forward.

Skills and Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in Product Management, Associate Product Management, Solutions Engineering, or a product-adjacent role.
  • Demonstrated ability to turn an ambiguous problem into a structured artifact.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one AI prototyping tool (v0, Claude, Figma AI, Framer, or similar).
  • Comfortable building functional working prototypes using AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor) connected to APIs and synthetic data—not just design mockups.
  • Strong written communication skills; this is a remote-first team.
  • Familiarity with Agile delivery methodologies and a clear understanding of what an engineering-ready specification looks like.

Product pay context

Based on 1,732 disclosed Product salaries on RoleSuite, the role pays a median of $176K/year, with most offers between $144K and $215K (10th–90th percentile: $115K–$252K).
