Job Description: 

This job is responsible for the delivery of integrated credit solutions to clients as well as on-going portfolio management. Key responsibilities include underwriting and negotiating new transactions, partnering with client-facing teammates to consult on sales opportunities, and providing the product expertise to deliver effective client solutions. Job expectations include providing on-going monitoring of client portfolios, ensuring accurate and timely analysis of financial statements, assignment of risk ratings, and required client reviews.

This job is responsible for performing deal analysis, preparing supporting deal justification, and processing approvals for Commercial Real Estate credit transactions. Key responsibilities include underwriting aspects of a credit transaction (e.g., construction debt, term debt, and tax credit equity) for all product types, performing material modifications to existing facilities, and advising the Commercial Real Estate Banking portfolio group on any post-closing credit actions as needed. Job expectations may include driving operational excellence and influencing leaders, peers, and clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates new end-user credit opportunities including identification and assessment of risks and identifies mitigating factors

  • Partners with client-facing teammates to consult on sales opportunities and provide the product expertise and consultation necessary to deliver the best possible solution to the client

  • Underwrites new transactions, analyzes credit risk, negotiates and closes deals, while adhering to internal policy, procedures and regulatory requirements

  • Structures the terms of a lease/loan with respect to the various aspects that make up a lease/loan (e.g. pricing, rates, payment, term, collateral)

  • Manages the credit process for a portfolio of clients including reviewing financial statements, assessing the client's compliance with financial covenants, confirming the accuracy of risk ratings, and recommending changes as warranted

  • Leads the underwriting of secured and unsecured transactions to Commercial Real Estate clients, including real estate secured construction and term debt, tax credit equity investments, unsecured corporate revolvers, bridge financing, commercial agency warehouse lines, and subscription lines

  • Performs the requisite due diligence once a credit opportunity is mandated, preparing the approval request documents, receiving final loan approval on a timely basis, and participating in the loan closing process

  • Collaborate with the client, relationship coverage team, and product partners, as applicable, to facilitate timely and client-centric loan closings

  • Leads the end-to-end process for loan modifications and extensions on existing loans including structuring, due diligence, gaining approval, and closing

  •  Completes Scheduled Exposure Reviews (SERs) and Risk Rating Scorecards for adversely risk rated loans for approval, and presents SERs at quarterly SER meetings

Required Qualifications:

  • 1-3 years in a Commercial Real Estate credit-related role with risk assessment experience

  • Loan structuring, financial analysis, underwriting, and deal structuring for borrowers

  • Strong negotiation and communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders

  • Proven ability to analyze, interpret and negotiate third party documentation

  • Ability to identify trends and emerging risks in underwriting and client selection

  • Strong knowledge and comprehension of loan and collateral documentation

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

Desired qualifications:

  • 5+ years in a Commercial Real Estate credit role

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, accounting or related field.

Pay range

$103,000.00 - $141,000.00 annualized salary, offers to be determined based on experience, education and skill set.

Discretionary incentive eligible

This role is eligible to participate in the annual discretionary plan. Employees are eligible for an annual discretionary award based on their overall individual performance results and behaviors, the performance and contributions of their line of business and/or group; and the overall success of the Company.
