The Role

As our new Account Executive, you won’t be stuck in a corner doing dry data entry. You’ll be right in the engine room of the team, working on the frontline of transforming one of the world's most recognisable, high-impact global brands.

 

Operating within our lean, integrated team, you’ll report directly to our brilliant Account Manager, Phil Rudd. Because we work in flat, agile teams, you’ll gain hands-on experience across media planning, buying, campaign delivery, and creative strategy. You will learn how to apply our agile HI + AI model to a massive, global brand portfolio, ensuring everything from social content to performance media runs as a single, seamless, high-velocity system.

You’ll learn directly from industry-leading senior team members and get direct exposure to high-level, global decision-making early in your career. This role is ideal for someone proactive, curious, and eager to build a career in marketing within a fast-paced environment.

 

And remember, you don’t need to know it all yet. We’ll teach you the tools, the terminology, and the strategy. With regular 1-to-1s, honest support, and access to the world-class WPP Media University, we’ll give you everything you need to succeed.

As the global education and tech landscape rapidly evolves, our role is to ensure Pearson’s marketing is just as dynamic, agile, and forward-thinking as their digital products. You'll be working on a massive, exciting account where you’ll help us translate big brand ideas into culture-hacking social media, influencer partnerships, and sophisticated digital media campaigns.

 

Key Responsibilities

  1. Platform Mastery & Campaign Launches
  • Get Under the Hood: Learn to set up, traffic, and launch live ads across the world’s most powerful digital platforms (including Meta Ads Manager, TikTok Ads Manager, and Google Ads).
  • Own the Channels: Partner directly with the Account Manager to co-own our digital channels, responding to client briefs with smart, multi-platform media plans.
  1. Real-Time Optimisation & AI
  • Co-Pilot the Data: Pull performance data, learn how to analyse the numbers, and help the team adjust live budgets in real-time to maximise campaign impact.
  • Supercharge with AI: Get hands-on with our advanced WPP Open AI agents. You'll learn how to use AI to handle routine tasks, giving you more time to focus on strategy and creative brainstorming.
  1. Keeping the Engine Running smoothly
  • Run a Slick Operation: Manage media bookings, handle day-to-day finance queries, and reconcile campaign spend. (High-performing campaigns are built on incredibly precise logistics, and you will learn how to run them like a pro).
  • Keep Everyone Connected: Maintain smooth, structured working processes between our internal creative partners, media owners, and the client.
  1. Industry Networking & Innovation
  • Build Your Network: Develop close, early-stage relationships with our key media partners (like TikTok, Google, and Meta) and cutting-edge tech vendors.
  • First-to-Market Mindset: Be our ears on the ground. Actively seek out new social formats, beta-testing opportunities, and emerging platforms to help our clients stay ahead of the curve.

What We’re Looking For

  • The Essentials: You are a recent graduate (or have equivalent, relevant experience) with a demonstrable passion for digital marketing, social media, and brand-building.
  • An Eye for Detail: You have sharp organisational skills, a dedication to doing great work, and the ability to stay focused when things get busy.
  • Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the confidence to share your ideas in a collaborative team setting.
  • The Basics: Comfortable navigating both Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Workspace (Sheets, Slides, Docs). You are keen to develop your analytical skills using these tools.
  • Growth Mindset: You are open to feedback, eager to learn, and focused on progress over perfection

  • Previous experience or an internship at a digital or media agency.
  • A basic understanding of tracking and ad-serving tech (like Campaign Manager 360 or social platform pixels).
