About the Role
Sales Managers at Hayes Locums play a critical role in driving team performance and connecting healthcare facilities with top physician and advanced practice provider (APP) talent.
This is a hands-on leadership role where you will lead by example while coaching, developing, and motivating a team of consultants. The ideal candidate brings staffing industry experience and a proven track record of developing high-performing teams.
You will develop subject matter expertise within your team’s physician specialty while contributing to both recruiting and sales development initiatives.

Training & Development
All new Sales Managers complete a 6-week, award-winning training program designed to build a strong foundation for long-term success.
During training, you will:
• Learn the locum tenens staffing model and healthcare market
• Develop sourcing and recruiting strategies for physician talent
• Practice consultative sales and negotiation skills
• Gain exposure to credentialing, compliance, and operations
• Build pipeline management and call structure skills
• Establish daily habits that drive consistent performance
You’ll be supported by Sales Enablement and leadership through:
• Hands-on coaching
• Weekly benchmarks
• Continuous feedback
What You Will Do
Team Leadership & Performance
• Lead and develop a team of healthcare consultants to drive performance and results
• Provide hands-on coaching, training, and ongoing feedback
• Motivate both new hires and top performers to achieve individual and team goals
• Ensure consistent KPI performance across the team
Sales Strategy & Execution
• Establish and communicate daily, weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales goals
• Track and monitor team performance against key metrics and targets
• Partner with leadership to develop annual sales goals and strategy
Reporting & Analytics
• Review and analyze daily, weekly, quarterly, and annual sales data
• Partner with FP&A to evaluate performance, trends, and reporting accuracy
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting and business insights
Operations & Cross-Functional Collaboration
• Support hiring, onboarding, and development of consultants and coordinators
• Partner with HR and leadership on performance management, including probation or termination when necessary
• Communicate and implement company policies and leadership directives
• Maintain strong internal partnerships across departments
• Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications & Experience
• 5+ years sales experience
• 3+ years of experience in sales management
• Experience in physician staffing, locum tenens, or healthcare staffing preferred
• Successful track record of coaching and leading sales teams
• Demonstrated ability to drive revenue growth and achieve team performance targets
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret sales data and trends
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, organize effectively, and operate in a fast-paced environment
Compensation & Career Growth
Hayes Locums rewards success through a combination of base salary and bonus.
Compensation Includes:
• $90,000 to $120,000 base salary
• $20,000 to $25,000 bonus eligibility
The posted salary range represents base compensation. Actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and expertise. Employees are also eligible for additional performance-based On Target Earnings (OTE) incentives and bonus opportunities.
