Position Summary

This position is part of the Drug Substance Division within the Pharma Services Group and is based at our Brisbane site. The Brisbane facility specialises in the GMP manufacture and commercialisation of large-molecule biologics using proven and innovative manufacturing processes.

As a Manufacturing Operator I within the Media & Buffer Preparation (MBP) team, you will support the preparation of media and buffer solutions essential to the production of biopharmaceutical products for our global customers. This role plays a critical part in ensuring manufacturing operations are conducted safely, efficiently, and in compliance with quality and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Dispense raw materials and prepare media and buffer solutions, including large-volume batches of up to 1,000 litres per day.

  • Complete production documentation accurately, including data collection and calculations, in accordance with ALCOA++ data integrity principles.

  • Support investigations, deviations, corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs), and change control activities to ensure timely closure and compliance.

  • Contribute to the continuous improvement of departmental procedures by reviewing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Job Safety Analyses (JSAs).

  • Identify operational issues proactively and collaborate with the team to develop practical solutions and process improvements.

  • Adhere to Thermo Fisher Scientific's Quality Management System, cGMP requirements, and Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S) standards.

  • Follow all workplace health and safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe and compliant working environment.

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and compliance.

  • Previous experience working in a cGMP-regulated manufacturing environment is preferred.

Qualifications

  • High school certificate or equivalent qualification required.

  • Relevant experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, food manufacturing, chemical processing, or a related regulated industry is advantageous.

Other Requirements

  • Must possess full working rights in Australia.

  • Ability to work shifts and perform tasks requiring standing, lifting, and manual handling, as required.

  • must be open to shift and weekend work, if required.
