Position Objective
This position offers an exciting opportunity to perform and support sterility, bioburden, environmental monitoring (EM), and endotoxin testing within an ISO-accredited laboratory environment. As a Senior Microbiology Technician, you will play a key role in ensuring products meet the highest quality and compliance standards while supporting laboratory operations, equipment qualification activities, and continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will be conducted in accordance with internal procedures, regulatory requirements, and ISO 13485 standards, contributing to departmental safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Essential Functions
Perform microbiological testing and laboratory activities in accordance with approved procedures and quality standards, including:
Conduct sterility, bioburden, endotoxin, and environmental monitoring (EM) testing and sampling.
Perform raw material and finished product release testing according to standard operating procedures.
Execute routine calibration, maintenance, and daily performance checks of laboratory equipment.
Support equipment qualification and validation activities, including Installation Qualification (IQ), Operational Qualification (OQ), and Performance Qualification (PQ) protocols and documentation.
Assist with method validations, technical investigations, non-conformance investigations, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Review and accurately document laboratory data in compliance with GMP, ISO 13485, and internal quality requirements.
Support and maintain 5S, safety, environmental, and waste management programs within the laboratory.
Train and mentor junior laboratory personnel where required.
Ensure testing schedules are maintained and completed within agreed timelines.
Participate in internal audits and regulatory inspections as required.

Education
Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, Biomedical Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
Experience
Minimum of 1 year of experience working within a microbiology or related regulated laboratory environment.
Hands-on experience performing Environmental Monitoring (EM) and endotoxin testing is preferred.
Experience with sterility and bioburden testing is highly desirable.
Knowledge of GMP, ISO 13485, and laboratory quality systems preferred.
Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to data integrity and quality standards.
Contacts
Collaborates closely with Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, Validation, and other operational departments.
May be required to interact with external auditors, suppliers, and service providers.
Working Conditions
Work is conducted primarily within a laboratory environment.
Must be able to work safely with chemicals, biological materials, and other hazardous substances.
Some manual handling may be required.
May be required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and work within controlled environments, including cleanroom areas.
