Mid-Senior Biologist

You will collaborate closely with engineers, planners, and regulatory agencies to ensure environmental considerations are fully integrated into project design and execution.
This role also involves mentoring junior staff and contributing to high-quality scientific outputs that support permitting and project approvals.
Operating in a dynamic consulting environment, you will contribute to projects that span environmental restoration, infrastructure, and conservation initiatives.

Accountabilities:
- Lead and support complex biological field studies, including habitat assessments, species surveys, vegetation mapping, and ecological monitoring.
- Oversee environmental compliance efforts ensuring adherence to regulations such as the Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, and NEPA requirements.
- Prepare, review, and contribute to technical reports, environmental impact assessments, and mitigation planning documents.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including engineers, planners, and regulatory agencies to integrate biological insights into project design.
- Conduct data analysis and interpret ecological findings to support project decision-making and environmental risk evaluation.
- Engage with clients, public stakeholders, and government agencies through presentations, meetings, and regulatory consultations.
- Mentor and guide junior biologists, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and scientific rigor in field and reporting work.
- Support proposal development and business growth efforts within environmental and ecological services.
- 6+ years of experience in biological fieldwork, environmental consulting, ecological assessment, or related scientific roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Ecology, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred.
- Strong knowledge of southeastern U.S. flora and fauna and experience conducting habitat and species assessments.
- Hands-on experience with environmental regulations including NEPA, Clean Water Act, and Endangered Species Act compliance.
- Ability to lead field teams, manage projects, and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong technical writing skills for environmental reports, impact assessments, and regulatory documentation.
- Comfortable working in both office/remote settings and challenging outdoor field environments.
- Valid driver’s license required, with ability to conduct site visits and fieldwork in varied terrain and weather conditions.
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Wildlife Biologist, Wetland Scientist, Ecologist) are a plus.
