Responsibilities:

• Support Key Driver Identification (KDI) and Media Format project teams through the execution of formulation and experimental studies.

• Prepare pilot-scale powder and liquid formulations by creating, reviewing, and executing batch records in accordance with established procedures.

• Conduct laboratory and small-scale cell culture experiments to evaluate media, peptone, and hydrolysate performance; analyze data and communicate findings to project teams.

• Maintain accurate laboratory documentation, including batch records, study reports, laboratory notebooks, and electronic data.

• Collaborate with technical project leaders to troubleshoot issues, recommend next steps, and support project objectives.

• Manage chemical and raw material inventories, including ordering, tracking, storage, and disposal in compliance with safety and environmental requirements.

• Ensure laboratory and pilot equipment are clean, calibrated, maintained, and operating properly to support project activities.

• Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, innovation, and operational efficiencies within the KDI and Media Format programs.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to evaluate and implement new methodologies, technologies, and best practices.

• Participate in safety, quality, and continuous improvement initiatives to maintain a compliant and efficient laboratory environment.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Biomedical Engineering, or a related scientific discipline.

• 0–2 years of laboratory experience in cell culture, bioprocess development, media development, or a related field; industry experience preferred.

• Working knowledge of cell culture techniques, aseptic laboratory practices, and experimental design.

• Experience preparing solutions, media, or formulations and following established laboratory procedures and batch records.

• Ability to analyze experimental data, draw conclusions, and communicate results effectively to technical teams.

• Strong problem-solving, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills.

• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deliver high-quality results in a fast-paced research environment.

• Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and basic data analysis tools.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cell culture media development, optimization, or characterization.

• Knowledge of peptones, cell culture media, and other media raw materials used in bioprocessing applications.

• Experience conducting mammalian cell culture experiments and analyzing cell culture performance data.

• Familiarity with laboratory inventory management systems, Good Documentation Practices (GDP), and laboratory safety requirements

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in Maryland is $53,300.00–$70,000.00.

This position may also be eligible to receive a variable annual bonus based on company, team, and/or individual performance results in accordance with company policy. We offer a comprehensive Total Rewards package that our U.S. colleagues and their families can count on, which includes:
