Job Overview

We are looking for a Senior Scientist to join our Bioinformatics team and contribute to the development of innovative Microarray-based products and data-driven solutions.

In this role, you will work at the intersection of biology, data science, and software development. You will collaborate closely with molecular biologists and multidisciplinary teams to analyze complex experimental datasets, develop automated analysis workflows, and generate insights that directly influence product development and scientific decision-making.

Beyond data analysis, you will play a key role in digitalization and automation initiatives by creating tools, applications, and scalable workflows that improve efficiency, accessibility, and reproducibility across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with molecular biologists and scientists to define data analysis strategies and support experimental objectives

  • Analyze complex biological and experimental datasets and translate findings into actionable scientific insights

  • Design, develop, and maintain bioinformatics workflows, pipelines, and automated analysis solutions

  • Improve efficiency and scalability through workflow automation and process digitalization

  • Investigate data- and assay-related issues, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions

  • Interpret results, generate hypotheses, and recommend next steps based on experimental findings

  • Independently plan and execute bioinformatics and data science activities

  • Contribute technical expertise to product development, assay optimization, and troubleshooting efforts

  • Present analytical findings and recommendations to scientific, technical, and business stakeholders

  • Support implementation of new analytical approaches, workflows, and process improvements

  • Ensure data quality, integrity, traceability, and compliance with established standards

  • Continuously evaluate and adopt new bioinformatics, automation, and digital technologies

Experience and Qualifications

  • PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Data Science, or a related discipline

or

  • MSc with significant hands-on experience in bioinformatics, computational biology, or data science

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong Python programming skills and experience with modern data analysis libraries

  • Experience building and maintaining data analysis workflows and bioinformatics pipelines

  • Strong knowledge of Linux and command-line environments

  • Experience with SQL, Git, and software version control practices

  • Strong understanding of software development fundamentals, including code organization, testing, and documentation

  • Ability to analyze, visualize, and interpret complex experimental datasets

  • Strong analytical thinking and scientific problem-solving capabilities

  • Excellent communication and technical presentation skills

  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across multidisciplinary teams

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and spoken

  • High attention to detail and commitment to scientific quality

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Docker and containerized workflows

  • Familiarity with AI/ML libraries and machine learning applications

  • Experience using AI-assisted coding tools and modern software development workflows

  • Experience with omics data analysis

  • Experience contributing to workflow automation and digital transformation projects

  • Basic knowledge of web technologies, computer networking, or cloud environments

Compensation

The monthly salary range estimated for this position based in Lithuania is €3 016,67–€5 033,33.
