Olink, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific, is dedicated to advancing the understanding of human disease through proteomics. Join our innovative R&D team to make a meaningful impact on scientific advancement. As a Scientist III, you will lead technical projects and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams to develop advanced solutions that enable customers to make the world healthier, cleaner and safer. You will design and execute experiments, analyze complex data, resolve technical challenges, and implement continuous improvement initiatives. This role offers opportunities to mentor colleagues while working independently on sophisticated research programs that directly impact product development and customer success.
We are seeking an experienced and driven Scientist to join our innovative R&D organization and the Systems and Automation team. The team currently consists of 7 dedicated team members. The role is based in our Uppsala office, reporting to Manager, Systems and Automation.
In this role, you will play a central part in implementing technology for readout ot Olink's products as well as solutions for automation of sample preparation. Today Olin's products uses NGS or qPCR for readout.
A Day in the Life
You will collaborate across functions and contribute to cutting-edge projects within proteomics. A key focus will be readout technologies such as qPCR and NGS to support Olink's products and improve analytical performance.
Education & background
- PhD in life science with relevant industry experience, or MSc in Engineering /Life Science (or equivalent) with significant professional experience.
- Preferred Areas of Study: Molecular Biotechnology Engineering, Biochemistry, Biology, Proteomics or related discipline
Technical Expertise
- Strong experience in NGS and qPCR
- Hands on experience in molecular biology and protein analysis techniques, such as: protein affinity assays, PEA, qPCR, NGS automated workflows and analytical instrumentation, Multivariate analyse, Nucleic acid analyse
- Statistical analysis using R-programming language
- Full working proficiency in English, Swedish skills is preferred.

- Strong documentation skills and attention to detail
- Effective communication skills, preferably in both Swedish and Englis

Additional Merits
Track record of scientific contributions (publications, presentations, patents)
Experience with Design of Experiment (DOE) and data analysis tools
Experience developing or applying high‑throughput analytical techniques and automated workflows
Experience with product development in a regulated environment such as IVD/IVDR or ISO 13485
