Role Overview
Technology and Transformation Alliances, part of Analytical Development (AD) Synthetics at Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine, leads AD transformation through means of data, modelling, technology, and strategic partnerships.
The Technology team is looking for a Scientist (3 year contract) with a broad analytical background to support both conventional laboratory testing and the implementation of new and process analytical technologies as well as lab automation.
This role combines hands-on lab work with exposure to advanced techniques such as spectroscopic tools, particle sizing techniques and automated workflows. You will contribute to method development, data generation, and the evaluation of new technologies in close collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
The position is suited for a scientifically strong and practically oriented professional who is curious to explore and learn new analytical approaches.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform analytical testing using conventional techniques (e.g. LC, GC, KF) and spectroscopic methods (e.g. NIR and Raman spectroscopy)
- Support method development, validation, and transfer activities
- Execute experiments related to the evaluation of new and process analytical technologies as well as lab automation
- Analyze and interpret experimental data; support data-driven decision making
- Document experimental work and contribute to protocols, reports and technical documentation
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support project execution
- Ensure compliance with GMP, safety, and quality standards
- Stay informed on new analytical technologies and contribute to their evaluation
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Master’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technology, or a related field with at least 2 years of experience.
- Experience in an analytical laboratory environment
- Experience with conventional analytical techniques (e.g. chromatography, KF)
- Experience with spectroscopic techniques (e.g. NIR and Raman spectroscopy)
- Experience with chemical processes is an asset
- Familiarity with chemometrics or modelling is an asset

The anticipated base pay range for this position is:
€60,000.00 - €96,255.00
