Security Analysis Manager, Threat Detection

Our Security Threat Detection team works to create and maintain the safest operating environment for Google's users and developers. As a Security Analyst, you help defend network boundaries, keep computer systems and network devices hardened against attacks and provide security services to protect highly sensitive data like passwords and customer information. You will work directly with network equipment and actively monitor systems for attacks and intrusions.

You are passionate about intrusion detection and incident response, and are a recognized expert in those fields. You understand that, despite the best efforts, things go wrong, and you have the technical skills to forge our detection and response strategy, and manage incidents that may affect many teams across Google.The Core team builds the technical foundation behind Google’s flagship products. We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google’s products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of technical experience as an individual contributor security professional prior to management.
  • 5 years of experience managing a team of engineering and security operations professionals for a distributed organization.

Preferred qualifications:

  • Experience with detection, incident response, systems and network hardening, and threat intelligence.
  • Experience in recruiting and managing a team of experienced engineers on projects.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage across multiple, often time-sensitive initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
