Job Description:

   

Job Family Definition:

Responsible for protecting the company's global assets and interests which include personnel, property/operations, products, brand and intellectual property (IP). Principal activities include the following: • Working with HPE business and functional groups globally, designs, develops, implements and administers cost-effective, pro-active security programs and services. Encompasses executive protection, product authentication, anti-fraud, physical security, supply chain security, online security, contingency planning, and crisis management response. Includes analysis, design, audit, training and reporting related to these programs and services. • Leads security-related communications, promotes security awareness, designs and maintains communications channels to facilitate the distribution of time-sensitive security alerts, threat assessments, general travel guidance and other content. • Investigates allegations/incidents of illegal activity, violations of corporate policies, and serious impropriety by employees. Provides management with assessments/advice on organizations or individuals who are contemplating or using illegal or disruptive tactics against HPE. • Maintain liaison with domestic and international law enforcement, governmental security and intelligence agencies, industry organizations, and relevant organizations and individuals, to collect information relating to the security of HPE assets and interests. • Continually assesses and aligns security resources with risks.

Management Level Definition:

Applies intermediate level of subject matter knowledge to solve a variety of common business issues. Works on problems of moderately complex scope. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and limited project direction input. Exercises independent judgment within defined practices and procedures to determine appropriate action. Follows established guidelines and interprets policies. Evaluates unique circumstances and makes recommendations.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect and analyze investigative data related to sales, supply chain, warranty claims, fraud, grey market activities, counterfeiting, and other relevant areas.
  • Automate data extraction and perform initial analytics using data management systems, scripts, SQL, macros, and AI agents.
  • Conduct open-source intelligence (OSINT) reviews, marketplaces, link analysis, and review of files and documents.
  • Independently resolve cases and issues of moderate complexity and importance, while assisting with higher-level investigations. May lead less complex projects.
  • Implement and manage multiple components of security processes and projects, with guidance from management or senior team members.
  • Identify opportunities for improvement and propose effective solutions.
  • Manage case files, investigative data, and project documentation.
  • Develop conclusions, recommendations, and professional written reports, including consultative feedback.
  • Collaborate closely with other investigative teams within the organization.
     

Education and Experience:

  • University degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Industrial Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related field; equivalent experience considered.
  • Typically, 2-4 years of security or analytics related experience, which may include data analytics, OSINT, and/or corporate investigations.
  • Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) certification is a plus.
     

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Sound, ethical judgment and integrity.
  • Proficiency in processing large datasets and deriving actionable insights.
  • Strong ability to analyze disparate data sources to draw informed conclusions.
  • General knowledge of brand protection, investigative techniques, and open-source intelligence methods.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external partners.
  • Proven written reporting skills.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently, with guidance on more complex issues.
  • Strong organizational, time management, and planning skills; able to multi-task and adapt to shifting priorities.
  • Highly adaptable; comfortable working in an office environment.
  • Open to learn new systems, methods and strategies to reach desired outcomes.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish.
     

Impact/Scope:

  • Deliver specialized services and work products, such as product diversion analysis, impact/financial calculations, audits, and other investigative tasks, utilizing moderately advanced tools and techniques.
  • Liaise with business clients and cross-functional colleagues to deliver, communicate, and resolve cases and projects.
  • Manage moderately complex cases and operational environments.
  • Contribute to team and organizational process development efforts.
