Chevron is accepting online applications for the position Turnaround Planner / Scheduler located in Geismar, Louisiana through July 8th, 2026 at 11:59 PM (CT).

This position reports to the Geismar IMPACT Turnaround organization and serves as an individual contributor accountable for turnaround planning and scheduling deliverables across all event phases.

The role supports integrated turnaround planning and scheduling activities spanning pre-turnaround readiness, detailed execution planning, shutdown/cleanup/startup coordination, event execution support, and post-event closeout, often requiring alignment across multiple functions and contractors.

The Turnaround Planner / Scheduler collaborates with multi-discipline teams from Operations, Engineering, Maintenance, Reliability, Projects, Supply Chain, QA/QC, HSE, and contractor organizations to develop integrated plans and schedules that enable safe, predictable, and efficient turnaround execution at the Geismar site.

This position is accountable for both planning and scheduling activities utilizing the Chevron IMPACT work process and associated tools, while also supporting and maintaining site-specific turnaround work processes, procedures, and documentation that interface with and supplement enterprise requirements.

Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Develop and maintain integrated turnaround plans and schedules across all phases of event delivery.

  • Generate and validate planning inputs that support detailed schedule development, including field validations, job walks, work sequencing, readiness requirements, and work pack inputs.

  • Coordinate long-lead material readiness and alignment with Front-End Loading (FEL), Shutdown/Cleanup/Startup (SCS), and local turnaround governance requirements.

  • Develop, maintain, and assure logic-driven Primavera P6 schedules through Level 6 detail, including activity definitions, logic ties, milestones, constraints, sequencing, and resource awareness.

  • Build and maintain integrated schedules covering pre-turnaround work, turnaround execution, SCS activities, post-event closeout, and capital/project integration where applicable.

  • Perform schedule optimization and assurance activities to support safe and efficient execution.

  • Identify, analyze, and communicate critical path and near-critical path risks.

  • Provide schedule-based forecasting, progress tracking, completion analysis, and decision support to the Turnaround Core Team and other stakeholders.

  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Reliability, Projects, Supply Chain, QA/QC, HSE, and contractors to align readiness requirements, milestones, and schedule commitments.

  • Support continuous improvement efforts by documenting lessons learned and incorporating improvements into planning tools, templates, procedures, and standards.

  • Adopt and utilize digital tools as implemented and provide feedback to support ongoing tool enhancement and organizational capability development.

Required Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in an industrial, manufacturing, maintenance, operations, construction, project execution, or similar field environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Associate degree, technical degree, trade certification, or relevant coursework in construction management, engineering technology, industrial technology, maintenance, operations, project controls, or a related field.

  • Planning, scheduling, project controls, maintenance, construction, turnaround, or outage-related training or certification.

  • 7 or more years of experience in refining, petrochemical, chemical, renewable fuels, heavy industrial manufacturing, maintenance, construction, project execution, turnaround, outage, or shutdown environments.

  • 2 or more years of experience supporting planning, scheduling, project coordination, maintenance coordination, turnaround execution, outage execution, contractor coordination, or field execution coordination.

  • Experience developing and maintaining Primavera P6 schedules.

  • Experience supporting turnaround planning and execution activities.

  • Knowledge of turnaround, outage, maintenance, project controls, or scheduling work processes and tools.

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams in industrial or manufacturing environments.

  • Work location is Geismar, Louisiana.

  • Position supports turnaround events and requires periodic planned and unplanned field presence during planning, readiness, execution, and closeout phases.

  • Role requires extended work hours during key event milestones, readiness activities, and turnaround execution periods.
