Vendor Manager

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Vendor Manager based in the United States.

In this role, you will be responsible for building and managing a high-performing third-party vendor network that supports large-scale residential property operations. You will play a critical part in ensuring maintenance, repair, turnover, and renovation services are delivered efficiently, cost-effectively, and at scale across a growing portfolio. The position combines operational execution with strategic vendor relationship management, requiring strong analytical thinking and a data-driven approach to performance optimization. You will work closely with internal operations teams and external service providers to ensure alignment on service quality, pricing structures, and SLAs. This is a highly cross-functional role where communication, negotiation, and problem-solving are essential. You will also contribute to continuous process improvements, helping strengthen vendor performance and operational reliability across markets. The environment is fast-paced, collaborative, and highly execution-oriented.

Accountabilities:

  • Build, manage, and scale a network of third-party vendors supporting repairs, maintenance, turnover, and renovation services across residential assets
  • Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships to ensure consistent service quality, reliability, and alignment with operational needs
  • Monitor and drive vendor performance against KPIs and SLAs, delivering regular performance reviews and feedback
  • Identify vendor capacity gaps, source new vendors, and support onboarding and qualification processes
  • Negotiate pricing structures and agreements to optimize cost efficiency and market competitiveness
  • Utilize reporting and analytics to support data-driven decision-making and improve operational outcomes
  • Manage escalations, resolve vendor-related issues, and ensure timely and effective resolution of operational challenges
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams to align vendor performance with business goals and service expectations
  • Conduct field visits and market evaluations to assess vendor quality and strengthen partnerships
  • Requirements:

    • 5+ years of experience in vendor management, operations, property services, or related field-based service industries
    • Strong background in residential repairs and maintenance operations or similar asset management environments
    • Proven ability to manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee service-level performance
    • Strong analytical skills with experience using data and reporting tools to evaluate performance and drive decisions
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work across internal teams and external partners
    • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
    • Experience working in cross-functional, high-growth, or startup-style environments
    • Proficiency with productivity and collaboration tools (e.g., Google Workspace) and comfort working in tech-enabled workflows
    • Willingness to travel as required to support vendor evaluations and field operations
