The Senior Supply Chain Planner is responsible for planning and executing wafer fabrication, assembly, and test operations to support customer demand while achieving supply chain performance objectives. This role manages supply commitments, inventory, production planning, and supplier delivery performance across outsourced manufacturing partners. The planner works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely product delivery, optimize inventory levels, and proactively mitigate supply risks.
Key Responsibilities
Supply Planning & Execution
Plan, release, and monitor wafer fabrication, assembly, and test production based on customer demand, inventory targets, and manufacturing capacity.
Monitor daily WIP, production output, and shipment status across manufacturing partners.
Identify production bottlenecks, capacity constraints, and supply risks; drive timely resolution with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
Analyze demand and supply changes and adjust production priorities accordingly.
Ensure customer orders are fulfilled according to committed schedules and service level targets.
Supplier Performance Management
Drive supplier performance against key metrics including Factory On-Time Delivery (FOTD), cycle time, backlog management, and inventory accuracy.
Generate and communicate production priorities to suppliers and follow through to ensure timely execution.
Lead operational reviews and regular meetings with wafer fabs, assembly houses, and test subcontractors.
Coordinate escalation and recovery plans for supply shortages, schedule slips, and production issues.
Inventory Management
Manage wafer, die bank, unique material, and finished goods inventory to support business objectives.
Monitor inventory health and recommend actions to improve inventory turns while minimizing excess and obsolete inventory.
Perform inventory reconciliation and audit activities with subcontractors and internal teams.
Investigate inventory discrepancies and implement corrective actions.
Systems & Process Management
Maintain planning parameters and master data in SAP, APS, and related systems to ensure planning accuracy.
Execute SAP transactions including purchase orders, inventory adjustments, RMAs, lot scrapping, and material movements.
Manage B2B data transactions with subcontractors and resolve data integrity issues.
Support planning system enhancements and process improvement initiatives.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Partner with Demand Planning, Product Management, Operations, Procurement, Logistics, and Quality teams to support supply chain objectives.
Provide timely updates on supply status, delivery commitments, and potential risks.
Support new product introductions (NPI), product transfers, engineering builds, and qualification activities.
Participate in cross-functional projects aimed at improving supply chain efficiency and operational performance.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Industrial Engineering, Business, Operations Management, or a related field.
Experience
5–8 years of experience in semiconductor supply chain, production planning, operations planning, or manufacturing planning.
Experience supporting wafer fabrication, assembly, and test operations in a fabless or outsourced semiconductor manufacturing environment.
Strong understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes, production control, inventory management, and supplier coordination.
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with SAP or equivalent ERP systems.
Working knowledge of Advanced Planning & Scheduling (APS) tools.
Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES) is preferred.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with advanced Microsoft Excel capabilities.
