Vendor Category Manager
About this role:
Wells Fargo is seeking a Vendor Category Manager (Individual Contributor) with a strong background in supply chain, strategic planning, and cross-functional partnership. This role requires demonstrated experience consulting and influencing senior leaders, leading complex initiatives, and translating ambiguous business needs into structured, executable strategies. The ideal candidate will bring advanced analytical capabilities, strong project management expertise, and the ability to deliver impactful presentations while driving efficiency, cost effectiveness, and innovation across vendor and category management activities in a fast-paced environment.
In this role, you will:
Lead support functions or operations for multiple business groups and contribute to large scale strategic initiatives
Ensure efficiency, quality, cost effectiveness of solutions, and pipeline management relating to assigned operations
Research moderately complex business, operational, and strategic initiatives that require analytical skills, basic knowledge of organizational strategy and Business Execution, and understanding of international business
Work independently to make recommendations for support function by providing support and leadership
Assist in the planning and execution of a variety of programs and initiatives that may include risk mitigation, efficiency, and customer experience
Collaborate and consult with team leaders in developing project plans, policies and procedures
Provide leadership in management of relationships and implementation of programs, services, and initiatives with cross functional business partners
Required Qualifications:
4+ years of Business Execution, Implementation, or Strategic Planning experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
Desired Qualifications:
Strong background in Supply Chain
Experience managing vendor performance management
Strong analytical skills with ability to turn findings into executable plans to meet business objectives
Strong project management/strategic experience involving large, complex initiatives
Ability to create and deliver dynamic presentations
Demonstrated experience consulting, influencing, and partnering with senior leaders
Ability to turn preliminary or ambiguous information, ideas, or problems into well-defined plans and solutions
Advanced Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint) skills
Ability to execute in a fast paced, high demand, environment while balancing multiple priorities
Job Expectations:
Ability to travel 5% of the time
This position offers a hybrid work schedule
Adherence to in-office attendance expectations
