Role summary

Responsible for managing the procurement, negotiation, renewal, and governance of enterprise IT and Security SaaS across the organization. Acts as the commercial DRI for the DoorDash Group Security unit, while also overseeing the broader IT SaaS portfolio. Leads vendor commercial discussions to secure competitive pricing, strong contractual terms, and sustainable licensing structures, while balancing stakeholder needs, legal and privacy requirements, and internal budget constraints.

The role requires a deep understanding of the SaaS landscape, including how vendors structure pricing and packaging, as well as awareness of market trends, category best practices, and commercial levers that can be used to drive value. It also requires a highly structured and disciplined approach, with strong project management skills, and a very people-oriented style. The person must be able to build trust quickly, find common ground with demanding stakeholders, and influence outcomes with calm authority and quiet confidence.

Core responsibilities

  • Independently manage high-complexity sourcing projects and strategic renewals across IT and Security SaaS, including cross-functional and multi-stakeholder RFx processes
  • Lead commercial negotiations with IT and Security SaaS vendors, including pricing, licensing, term structure, renewals, amendments, and contract consolidations
  • Apply deep knowledge of contractual terms, commercial levers, and category-specific best practices to shape outcomes
  • Conduct advanced market research and translate insights into actionable sourcing and negotiation plans
  • Shape category strategies in collaboration with managers and senior managers, identifying new sourcing opportunities and areas for value creation
  • Build procurement strategies through leverage, timing, trade-offs, and structured concession management
  • Coordinate with Legal, Privacy, Finance, Security, IT, and business stakeholders to align requirements and decisions
  • Evaluate vendor proposals, pricing structures, commercial models, and associated risk
  • Drive cost control, contract standardization, and procurement discipline across the portfolio
  • Manage escalations, offboarding risk, and vendor performance issues
  • Support cross-entity alignment across the DoorDash Group
  • Contribute to sourcing tools, playbooks, team standards, and ways of working
  • Act as a visible ambassador for sourcing best practices, helping others understand policy, process, and commercial value

Level expectations

This role is expected to operate with autonomy, lead complex RFx and contracting workstreams, influence stakeholders up to Director level, and be trusted for subject matter depth, clarity of direction, and dependable delivery. The role contributes directly to team and category-level OKRs and KPIs through measurable sourcing outcomes. The role may require occasional travel and flexibility to work occasional evenings to accommodate collaboration with US-based vendors and stakeholders.
