This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Sr. Global Supply Manager I based in the United States.
This role sits at the intersection of engineering, operations, and strategic sourcing, focused on building and scaling a resilient global supply chain for complex electromechanical components. You will partner closely with engineering and product teams to ensure sourcing strategies support innovation, speed, and cost efficiency across new product development and mass production. The position requires a strong mix of analytical depth, negotiation capability, and cross-functional leadership in a fast-paced, global environment. You will evaluate suppliers, optimize cost structures, and help drive design-for-cost initiatives that improve both quality and scalability. This is a high-impact role where your decisions directly influence product performance, supply continuity, and overall business outcomes. It is ideal for someone who thrives in ambiguity and enjoys solving complex sourcing challenges at scale.
Accountabilities:
- Lead global sourcing activities for electromechanical components including cables, connectors, batteries, and related hardware, ensuring continuity of supply and alignment with product requirements.
- Partner closely with engineering, product, and operations teams to define sourcing strategies, conduct market analysis, and evaluate trade-offs in design and supplier selection decisions.
- Develop and manage a strategic supplier base, supporting rapid prototyping and smooth transition from new product introduction to scalable mass production with JDM partners.
- Drive cost optimization initiatives through should-cost modeling, value engineering, and negotiation of pricing, contracts, and long-term supplier agreements.
- Analyze supplier performance, spend, capacity, and market trends to identify risks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for cost savings and supply resilience.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to influence design, materials selection, and manufacturing processes in order to improve quality and reduce total cost of ownership.
- Synthesize and communicate sourcing insights, risks, and recommendations to stakeholders through clear, data-driven reporting and executive-level presentations.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in global supply chain, strategic sourcing, or procurement within complex manufacturing or technology environments.
- Strong expertise in electromechanical commodities and supplier management, ideally including cables, connectors, and related components.
- Proven experience in should-cost modeling, advanced cost analysis, and leading high-stakes supplier negotiations.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret commodity trends, market dynamics, and supply chain risks.
- Experience working cross-functionally with engineering and product teams in fast-paced, ambiguous, and high-growth environments.
- Ability to manage international suppliers and engage effectively with executive-level stakeholders across a global supply base.
- Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to translate complex data into clear executive insights.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related analytical field (or equivalent practical experience).
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary with additional performance-based bonus and equity opportunities.
- Fully remote-friendly working model with flexibility to support work-life balance.
- Comprehensive health coverage including medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
- Retirement benefits including 401(k) with company match.
