About the role: 

Reporting to the Sr. Supervisor, Water Quality the Engineer, Water Integrated Planning is responsible for managing and supporting the implementation of mine water management tools, completion of water infrastructure cost estimation, data collection, supporting process development, and tracking of water Key Performance Indicators. You will ensure use of the water balance model to support sustainable operation in alignment with compliance requirements, Regional Water Quality Modelling, and the EVR Water Governance and Closure Framework.

In this role you will:

  • Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures 
  • Support strong relationships with government agencies, Indigenous groups, and local communities of interest  
  • Uphold EVR’s contractor management and financial reporting policies to ensure program is delivered on time and within budget
  • Lead long-term water treatment scoping and integration into asset planning processes
  • Support the development of annual cost estimates for long term water management infrastructure
  • Lead internal scopes of work and manage third-party consultants to complete studies that reduce program uncertainties, mitigate business risk, and align with EVR’s long-term water & closure strategy
  • Identify operational water management needs and infrastructure risk to then assist in the development of feasible mitigation in coordination with stakeholders 

Requirements:

  • Engineering or Science Degree in civil, environment, hydrology, hydrogeology, or other related fields  
  • Relevant professional accreditation, or eligible for accreditation  
  • Minimum 5 years of experience leading development and implementation of water management programs, and risk evaluation of water quality and quantity in an industrial environment 
  • Experience in project management and delivery 
  • Technical knowledge of federal and provincial mining water practices and regulatory compliance preferred
