The Opportunity

This position works out of our Zona Franca Coyol Alajuela, Building B31 location in the Vascular Division. 

As the Maintenance Technician IV, is responsible for provides technical support to equipment utilized in manufacturing and supporting areas, by repairing, maintaining or modifying equipment, utilizing technical expertise, technical manuals, schematic drawings, precision tools and test equipment, to achive established maintenance and production metrics/goals. Also is responsible of provide support to other Maintenance Technicians as an equipment SME. Support other departments to differents projects.

What You’ll Do

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable corporare, divitional and site policies and procedures.
  • Responsible of documents equipment qualifications, repairs, moves, modifications and preventive maintenance performed on equipment, including part and instruments used, to assure appropriate documentation on Maximo system.
  • Responsible to document any work performed in Maximo using the correct WO as per applicable procedure and justify all the working hours on the system.
  • Responsible of maintains back-up/spare equipment and ensures spare parts are maintained at the required levels, to meet equipment needs in operations and supporting areas. Also responsible of correct use of spare parts and instruments.
  • Responsible to maintains maintenance areas in a clean and organize condition, including maintenance lab, mezannine and work stations (maintenance and operations WS).
  • Responsible to responds to complaints on equipment and work orders (DM, PM and all WOs types), and create improvement plans and implements projects to improve the maintenance area and metrics/goals.
  • Responsible to provide support on equipment/process troubleshooting.
  • Responsible to assure the correct installation of an equipment, including the verification of all the facilities required and correct wire management installation, and maintain it within the time.
  • Responsible to provide support related to equipment and maintenance activities to NPI, ME, QE, EHS and Operations projects, including create new equipment asset on system and complete all the activities requires to realease the equipment, equipment installation, validation, etc.
  • Responsible to perform root cause analysis on critical equipment failures and identify/implement improvement opportunities or corrections.
  • Responsible for improvements or corrections on equipment and processes implementatation, complying with the corresponding policies/procedures. Also, responsible of coordination with the affected areas.
  • Solves complex problems and provides solutions which are highly innovative and ingenious. Develops information which extends the existing boundaries of knowledge in a given field. Troubleshoots problems.
  • Responsible to identify improvement on maintenance procedures, including EMPs, EQPs, others and requires support to update documentation.
  • Responsible to provide support to the development and training plans of Maintenance technicians I and II.
  • Responsible to provide support to Mainteance Supervisor on coordination, coverages and other administratives activites when needed.
  • Responsible to priorize his own work and help other technicians to define priorities.
  • Responsible to complete all the training required and assure self training before equipment intervention.
  • Responsible to be train on critical equipment and develop him/her self as an critical equipment SME.
  • Responsible to provide support on exceptions related to equipment and maintenance activities (human error related), including execute or provide support to other areas or coworkers on all the exceptions stages and/or subtask completion.
  • Responsible to provide couching and training to the other technician on equipment/process troubleshooting.
  • Responsible to document any work performed using A3 methodology.
  • Support spare equipment process and controls implementation using MRO’s usage and spend analysis.
  • Coverage to tactical meeting in production floors ( TIERS ).
  • Responsible to provide supports to critical equipments issues based on TIER 4 indicators.

Shift

A: monday to friday, from 5:50am to 3:15pm.

This is an On Site position

Required Qualifications

  • Technical degree:  electronics, electric, maintenance, mechanical or advance university degree on Eng electronics, electric, maintenance, mechanical.
  • Courses on air condition, chillers, air compressor, dry air systems.
  • 5 years of experience.
  • Experience related to equipment troubleshooting , improvement identification and implementation, equipment design and / or equipment maintenance positions is required, preferred in a medical devices companies.
  • For internal candidates, 4 years of experience within the company.
  • Experience related to measurement equipment includes but not limited to: Voltage / Amp/ Resistence Gauge, Vacuum Gauge, Laser Gauge.
  • Experience related to equipment troubleshooting in Vacuum Systems, Blowwers and Pumps.
  • Experience related to A/C equipments.
  • Maximo querries to identify critical equipments.
  • Intermediate commands of English.

Preferred Qualifications

  • High Equipment Technical knowledge required.
  • Microsoft Offices Packages: Handles MS Word, Power Point and Excel at intermediate to high level.
  • Able to read and interpretate technical manuals, schematic/electrical drawings and use precision tools and test equipment.
  • Understanding and/or working knowledge of GMPs and Change Control practices preferred.
  • Good oral/written communication skills and have the ability to be effective in both a team and individual hands-on environment.
  • Microsoft Offices Packages: Handles MS Word, Power Point and Excel at intermediate level.
  • Lean and Six Sigma knowledge/certification as a plus, as example: Yellow or Green Belt, TPM, Preventive and Predictive Maintenance, Root cause analysis, others.
  • Maintenance metrics knowledge as a plus, as example: equipment availability, MTBF, MTBR, etc.
  • CAB/CAD knowledge/certification, including SW and Autocad as a plus.
  • PLCs and software installation knowledge/training as a plus.
  • Leadership, influence, ownership, capacity to train others and strong decision making and problem-solving skills required.
  • Minimum to no supervision needed.
