Assembler (Food Production)
Position Summary:
As an Assembler on Tovala’s food production team, you will be involved in our food preparation and packing operations. This includes portioning and packaging our food products. Additionally, you will prep our packaging inventory and perform duties on our packing line to assemble our meals for shipping to customers.

Portioning veggies, grains, spices, and sauces, into small plastic bags of corresponding containers

Inspecting product for quality

Making small cardboard boxes

Packing products into boxes

Insulating shipping boxes

Labeling finished products for shipping

Maintaining a clean and safe work environment

Working with the team to meet daily production goals!
Physical Demands

Standing and/or walking up to 8+ hours per day in a cold environment (39 degrees F)

Lifting, pushing, and/or pulling up to 25 pounds frequently

Use of hands and fingers for fine manipulation

Vision for machine operation and food handling

Hearing

Wear personal protective equipment for food safety
Competencies:

Ability to follow written or verbal instructions

Ability to weigh, measure, or otherwise portion food

Basic arithmetic
Education, Experience, Licenses and Certifications:

High school diploma or GED preferred
-
Previous food or other manufacturing experience preferred

Food certifications and licenses as required
Food Safety Responsibilities:

Report any food safety and quality problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.

Follow and uphold procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party programs/audits.
Work Environment:
Production: Space can be crowded with manufacturing equipment. Must remain aware of Forklift traffic. Noisy; some areas can be dusty. May encounter extremes in temperatures with 39 degrees F being the most common temperature in the facility.
