This role is hands-on and essential to maintaining a safe, reliable, and high-performing facility that supports critical scientific and production activities.
You will be responsible for ensuring that building systems, utilities, and equipment operate efficiently and without interruption.
The position plays a key role in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and rapid response to equipment issues across a complex site environment.
You will work closely with facilities leadership, vendors, and internal teams to maintain operational continuity and compliance standards.
The role combines mechanical, electrical, and systems expertise in a fast-paced, safety-focused setting.

Accountabilities:
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility systems and equipment, including HVAC systems, boilers, air compressors, chillers, pumps, motors, electrical and lighting systems, and water treatment systems.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical and electrical equipment issues to ensure optimal system performance and minimize downtime.
- Conduct routine inspections of buildings, grounds, and life safety systems, and execute or coordinate repairs based on findings.
- Manage spare parts inventory, procure replacement components, and ensure critical maintenance supplies are available when needed.
- Coordinate and oversee external vendors performing maintenance and repair work on-site, ensuring quality and compliance with safety standards.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing equipment reliability, efficiency, and overall facility performance.
Requirements:
- 5+ years of experience in facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related technical field.
- Strong mechanical skills, including the ability to identify failures, repair mechanical components, and perform preventive maintenance on complex systems.
- Solid electrical troubleshooting experience, including diagnosing wiring issues and repairing electrical systems safely and effectively.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; additional technical training or certifications are a plus.
- Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting up to 50 lbs, climbing, bending, and working in varied environments.
- Strong reliability, punctuality, and ability to respond to urgent or off-hours maintenance needs when required.
- Commitment to following health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and maintaining safe working practices at all times.
