Material Handler
The Material Handler ensures the orderly, timely and correct flow of materials to production . Will become proficient in the safe use of all material handling equipment. Accurately perform cycle counts, audits, safely perform movement of material in and out of storage locations, and assist receiving associates in all facets of the molding process as directed by supervisor.
Essential duties and Responsibilities include the following but no limited to:
- Maintains 5’S in the production area in a daily basis
- Expedites materials to facilitate packaging / production requirements
- Participates in cross training other functions within the Molding Department
- Reports to Supervisor/Team Lead status of the area daily (safety issues, maintenance issues, inventory errors).
- Works cooperatively to improve processes
- Complies with all of safety standards
- Works close with the Process Technicians to maintain the central loading system operating
- Assists in the mold changes on everything related to Materials (cleaning the machine hopper, filters, system). Prepares the machine for the next production run
- Maintains central loading system working by always checking that the hopper/loaders are working properly
- All other duties may be assigned as per business needs
Additional Skills and Experience:
- High School diploma/GED Required.
- Must be able to read, understand, interpret, and follow work instructions, production in numeric and/or written format with a high degree of accuracy.
- Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Teamwork
- Ability to perform basic math functions
- Accurately record daily production information (scrap & purge reports)
- Must be able to lift 55 lbs.
- Must be able to work and stand for up to 8 hours per shift
- Ability to multitask and able to work in a fast-paced environment
- Prior manufacturing experience a plus
- Schedule Flexibility. Must be able to work overtime if needed to assist business needs.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
