Position Summary

Product Manager

Purpose

As a key member of the Marketing Team, you will lead all SBU specific product related decisions with a focus on profitable and sustainable growth of the assigned product portfolio.

Business Priorities               

Profitable Growth

  • Champion profitable growth of key product portfolios
  • Develop/maintain market database for your assigned product lines: market size, share, competitive offerings and activity, retail pricing.

Financial Management

  • Ownership of list pricing and profitable SGM on all products.
  • Develop a product plan that realizes the top line and margin objectives set out in the annual ANZ OP. 
  • Leverage POS data, tracking key product performance indicators (margin, sales, new products) to drive decisions that impact the business.

Customer

  • Work with channel marketers to maximise their returns through category management.
  • Conduct market research to understand customer / market requirements on range / pricing for the assigned product portfolio.

Operating Performance

  • Management of Good SKU / Bad SKU process within assigned product portfolio.
  • Responsible for maintenance and communication of price lists for assigned product portfolio.
  • Support brand and communications manager in developing and maintaining websites and catalogues with up to date information.
  • Present product plans at all relevant ANZ meetings.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with EMO product managers and actively participate in product planning as an ANZ liaison.
  • Provide regular updates on new product performance to the business and take corrective action when required.
  • Work closely with the inventory planning team, sales team and channel marketing teams to manage the S&OP process. 

New Product Development

  • Champion new product launches, maintain product roads, track discontinuances and product costs, ensure structure of product in SAP
  • Develop new product forecasts, in conjunction with the channel marketing managers.
  • Provide leadership in the business to champion NPD across the Sales Force.
  • Provide local knowledge back to the SBU’s to ensure global / EMO NPD platforms will meet ANZ customer needs.

  • Provide support to other members to enable the business to gain synergies across all SBD brands.

Education and experience

  • Tertiary qualified in marketing or business discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years proven track record of successfully leading a small product / marketing team recognized for its brands and professional marketing processes.
