ABOUT THE LUCAS MUSEUM OF NARRATIVE ART
Opening in September 2026, the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art is dedicated to illustrated storytelling.  Founded by George Lucas and Mellody Hobson, the museum’s collection features works by artists including Norman Rockwell, Kadir Nelson, Jessie Willcox Smith, N. C. Wyeth, Beatrix Potter, Judith F. Baca, Frida Kahlo, and Maxfield Parrish; as well as comic art legends such as Winsor McCay, Jack Kirby, Frank Frazetta, Alison Bechdel, Chris Ware, and R. Crumb; and photographers Gordon Parks, Henri Cartier-Bresson, and Dorothea Lange. The Museum also houses the Lucas Archives, containing models, props, concept art, and costumes from Lucas’s filmmaking career. 
 
Designed by Ma Yansong of MAD with a landscape by Mia Lehrer of Studio-MLA, the Museum is in Exposition Park, Los Angeles, on an 11-acre campus that includes new green space and a 300,000-square-foot building with galleries, two theaters, a library, restaurant, café, retail store, and community spaces.  

POSITION SUMMARY

Reporting to the Assistant Manager, Warehouse, the Supervisor, Warehouse Operations leads inbound and outbound distribution activities to ensure merchandise is received, processed, and routed accurately, efficiently, and in alignment with operational timelines. This role is responsible for overseeing inbound workflow, supervising warehouse associates, and supporting inventory accuracy and productivity standards within a fast-paced distribution environment.  

The Supervisor helps drive operational excellence by maintaining service levels, resolving receiving issues, and fostering a safe, organized, and high-performing team culture

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Oversee daily inbound and outbound warehouse operations including; receiving, put-away, replenishment, order fulfillment, packing, shipping, and inventory processing to ensure timely and accurate movement of merchandise  

  • Coordinate dock operations, carrier appointments, shipment scheduling, and workflow prioritization to maintain operational efficiency and minimize delays  

  • Ensure all inventory and shipment transactions are accurately processed within warehouse management systems (WMS), RF scanning systems, and related operational platforms  

  • Monitor operational performance metrics including productivity, order accuracy, receiving accuracy, throughput, dock utilization, fulfillment speed, and inventory integrity to drive performance and continuous improvement  

  • Investigate and resolve shipping discrepancies, receiving issues, inventory variances, damaged merchandise, transportation delays, and operational bottlenecks in a timely and solutions-oriented manner  

  • Direct warehouse associates meet operational priorities, volume demands, and service levels while maintaining productivity 

  • Train, coach, and support warehouse associates and temporary staff through ongoing leadership, onboarding, and operational guidance to promote accountability and consistent execution  

  • Partner cross-functionally with Inventory Control, Transportation, Customer Service, and other distribution teams to resolve operational challenges and support business objectives  

  • Support and enforce compliance with company policies, operational procedures, safety standards, and regulatory requirements while promoting a culture of accountability and safe work practices  

  • Identify opportunities to improve workflow efficiency, labor utilization, operational execution, and overall warehouse performance through process improvements and best practices  

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safety-focused warehouse environment by reinforcing housekeeping standards, proper equipment use, and adherence to safety protocols  

  • Communicate operational priorities, performance expectations, and workflow updates clearly across shifts and teams to maintain alignment and execution consistency  

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 2+ years of warehouse, or distribution, operations experience  

  • Previous leadership or supervisory experience preferred but not required 

  • Knowledge of receiving processes, inventory management, warehouse systems, and dock operations  

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills  

  • Effective leadership and communication skills with the ability to motivate and develop teams  

  • Ability to prioritize multiple operational demands and meet productivity and service expectations  

  • Experience in a high-volume fulfillment, retail distribution, or logistics environment preferred  

  • Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory tracking tools preferred 

  • Knowledge of EHS, OSHA, and warehouse safety practices, including incident prevention, safe equipment use, and compliance with workplace safety standards preferred
