Corporate Accounting Supervisor

This role sits at the core of a fast-growing, private equity–backed insurance and technology organization, where accounting excellence directly supports scalability, compliance, and strategic growth. The position is responsible for ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while overseeing the full monthly close cycle in a dynamic, high-growth environment. You will act as a key leader within the corporate accounting function, driving accuracy across financial statements, reconciliations, and regulatory reporting. This role combines hands-on technical accounting with team leadership, offering visibility across multiple business areas including M&A, audits, and lender reporting. It is well-suited for someone who thrives in structured yet evolving environments where process improvement and precision are critical. You will also play an important role in developing accounting talent and strengthening internal controls as the organization continues to scale. Accountabilities
- Supervise the monthly and annual close process, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with GAAP standards.
- Review journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
- Oversee preparation and review of monthly financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Support lender reporting, debt covenant compliance, and external audit requirements.
- Assist with tax filings by preparing reconciliations, schedules, and required financial documentation.
- Contribute to acquisition accounting activities related to mergers and acquisitions.
- Lead, supervise, and mentor staff accountants, providing coaching, feedback, and performance oversight.
- Drive process improvements and support ad hoc financial analysis and special projects.
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within corporate accounting or public accounting environments.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, and month-end close processes.
- Experience with account reconciliations, journal entries, accrual accounting, and fixed asset management.
- Prior exposure to insurance or MGA environments is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate across teams and explain financial concepts clearly.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting systems and financial reporting tools.
- Competitive annual salary range: $82,000 – $95,000 USD
