The Data Analytics team serves as a strategic capability across Portage Point, enabling business intelligence, operational reporting, workflow automation, enterprise applications and emerging AI initiatives. This team partners with leaders across the firm to deliver scalable technology solutions that improve decision-making, enhance operational efficiency and support continued growth. Data Analytics team members are responsible for supporting and advancing the firm's data, reporting, automation and application development platforms.
The Senior Associate, Data Analytics represents a unique opportunity to assume a wide range of responsibilities and make a significant impact. This Senior Associate will join a high-growth team responsible for building and scaling the data foundation that powers reporting, analytics, automation and strategic decision-making across the firm. The Senior Associate, Data Analytics will report directly into the local Vice President, Data Analytics and lead work with firm leadership and business stakeholders to develop solutions that drive measurable operational impact. This Senior Associate will play a key role in designing, developing and maintaining Portage Point's modern analytics ecosystem leveraging Snowflake, dbt, Airflow, Power BI and Azure.
Responsibilities
- Partner with senior team members, application developers, platform engineers and stakeholders across the firm to translate business requirements into scalable tech solutions
- Design, develop and maintain ELT pipelines and enterprise data solutions
- Build and optimize Snowflake data models, warehouse structures and analytics datasets
- Develop and maintain dbt transformation frameworks and testing processes
- Design, implement and support Airflow orchestration workflows
- Build semantic models and datasets supporting enterprise Power BI reporting
- Develop reusable data assets that support business intelligence, automation and AI initiatives
- Ensure data quality, reliability, governance and performance across the analytics platform
- Support executive reporting, KPI development and self-service analytics initiatives
- Share and manage best practices as well as lead internal trainings where required
- Support talent acquisition and firm development efforts
- Contribute to creating a high-performing and inclusive culture
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or Mathematics from a top undergraduate program required
- Four plus years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering and / or business intelligence, preferably at a top-tier advisory firm serving U.S. clients
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools and modern AI technologies to accelerate data engineering, analytics and automation initiatives
- Advanced SQL and Python development experience
- Proficient in GitHub-based software development workflows, including version control, feature branching, pull requests, code reviews, release management and collaborative software development best practices
- Hands-on expertise working with Snowflake and within Azure cloud environments
- Experience developing and maintaining dbt projects
- Experience building and supporting Airflow workflows
- Experience developing Power BI semantic models, datasets and reporting solutions
- Strong understanding of dimensional modeling, data warehousing and analytics best practices
- Experience creating and supporting AI and automation initiatives with familiarity using Power Apps and Power Automate
- Experience implementing enterprise data governance and data quality frameworks
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, including executive-ready presentation and reporting skills
- Proven ability to thrive in lean, fast-moving teams
- High attention to detail, responsiveness and ownership mindset
- Track record of success in high-pressure
