Senior Executive – Corporate Development

Jobgether · US

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Executive – Corporate Development based in United States.

This is a high-autonomy, relationship-driven corporate development role focused on sourcing and advancing M&A opportunities within the software sector. The position is designed for an experienced professional who thrives in externally facing environments, engaging directly with founders and executives to build trust and identify acquisition opportunities. You will play a critical role in expanding and strengthening an M&A pipeline by initiating conversations, nurturing long-term relationships, and positioning a leading software acquirer as the partner of choice. The role requires strong business acumen, credibility in financial discussions, and the ability to quickly understand and evaluate companies. Operating in a flexible, part-time, remote setup, you will have the autonomy to structure your approach while contributing directly to strategic growth outcomes. This is a relationship-first role where persistence, curiosity, and communication skills translate directly into acquisition success.

Accountabilities:

  • Identify, research, and develop a strong pipeline of software companies aligned with acquisition strategy and investment criteria.
  • Initiate and conduct targeted outreach to founders, owners, and senior executives to generate high-quality M&A conversations.
  • Build trust-based relationships with business leaders by understanding their goals, motivations, and potential exit considerations.
  • Maintain consistent engagement with prospects to nurture long-term acquisition opportunities and move deals forward.
  • Translate initial conversations into qualified acquisition opportunities and support progression toward completed transactions.
  • Conduct rapid company and leadership assessments to tailor outreach and improve engagement effectiveness.
  • Track all outreach activity, interactions, and pipeline updates accurately within CRM systems to support decision-making and reporting.
  • Requirements:

    • Strong background in business, finance, corporate development, consulting, or related fields with proven high-performance experience.
    • Solid understanding of M&A processes, valuation concepts, and business exits, with confidence engaging in strategic acquisition discussions.
    • Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills, with the ability to quickly establish trust with senior stakeholders.
    • Natural ability to network, connect, and engage with business owners in both formal and informal settings.
    • Strong research skills with the ability to quickly analyze companies, industries, and leadership profiles.
    • High intellectual curiosity and a consultative mindset, with a focus on learning from each interaction.
    • Demonstrated persistence, resilience, and results orientation in outbound or relationship-driven environments.
    • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to CRM usage and activity tracking.
    • Bonus: prior experience in M&A sourcing, business development, investment banking, private equity, or strategic partnerships.
    • Benefits:

      • Flexible, part-time remote work arrangement aligned with business needs and candidate availability.
      • Competitive compensation based on experience, skills, and market benchmarks.
      • Opportunity to directly influence high-value M&A transactions within a leading software acquisition platform.
      • High degree of autonomy and ownership over outreach strategy and pipeline development.
      • Exposure to a large-scale acquisition organization with a strong track record across multiple software sectors.
      • Potential classification as employee or independent contractor depending on engagement structure.
      • Opportunity to leverage senior-level experience in a relationship-driven, strategic corporate development role.
