This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Senior Data Engineer based in Brazil.

This role is focused on building and evolving modern, scalable data platforms that enable advanced analytics, AI-driven products, and data-informed decision-making at scale. You will work on complex distributed systems in cloud environments, designing robust data pipelines and ensuring high performance, reliability, and governance across the entire data lifecycle. The position requires a strong engineering mindset combined with deep expertise in data processing frameworks and cloud-native architectures. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to define data standards, support product development, and enable high-quality data consumption across the organization. This is a highly technical and impactful role, ideal for someone passionate about building data products that power real business transformation. Accountabilities:

  • Design, build, and maintain scalable, high-performance data pipelines supporting large-scale data ingestion, transformation, and consumption.
  • Develop and optimize data processing workflows using Databricks, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Implement and evolve Data Mesh architectures, supporting decentralized and domain-oriented data ownership models.
  • Build data solutions using Python and PySpark, ensuring maintainable and production-ready codebases.
  • Design and optimize complex SQL queries and data models to support analytics, reporting, and data products.
  • Operate within cloud environments (preferably Azure), ensuring best practices for scalability, security, and observability.
  • Ensure data quality, monitoring, and governance standards across pipelines and datasets.
  • Collaborate with engineering, analytics, and product teams to define data architecture standards and support strategic initiatives.
  • Requirements

    • Solid experience in Data Engineering with strong focus on building and maintaining scalable data pipelines.
    • Hands-on experience with Databricks for data processing and analytics workloads.
    • Strong knowledge of Data Mesh architecture principles and implementation.
    • Advanced proficiency in Python and PySpark for data processing and engineering tasks.
    • Strong SQL expertise and experience with data modeling techniques.
    • Experience working in cloud environments, preferably Microsoft Azure.
    • Strong understanding of distributed systems, data architecture, and performance optimization.
    • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional, agile teams.
    • Experience with Medallion Architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold) is a plus.
    • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and observability practices is a differentiator.
    • Experience building data products and enabling self-service analytics is highly valued.
