Data Engineer Senior (FICO)

This role sits at the core of large-scale data transformation initiatives, focusing on building and optimizing robust, cloud-based data ecosystems that support enterprise decision-making. You will work in a highly collaborative, multidisciplinary environment where data engineering, analytics, and business needs converge to deliver scalable and intelligent solutions. The position involves designing end-to-end data pipelines and ensuring data reliability across complex architectures leveraging modern cloud and big data technologies. You will play a key role in shaping data platforms that enable performance, governance, and innovation at scale. This is a hands-on, senior-level engineering role with strong influence on architecture, standards, and delivery quality. You will collaborate closely with technical and business stakeholders to translate complex requirements into efficient data solutions.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines that support enterprise-grade analytics and operational needs. You will work across ingestion, transformation, and modeling layers while ensuring data quality, consistency, and usability throughout the lifecycle of data processing. You will also contribute to the evolution of modern data platforms, supporting CI/CD practices for ETL workflows and maintaining reliable Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures.
- Design, build, and maintain scalable and robust data pipelines using tools such as Databricks, Spark/PySpark, Azure Data Factory (ADF), and Cloudera
- Develop and optimize ETL/ELT processes, ensuring high performance, reliability, and data accuracy
- Implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines for data engineering workflows
- Ensure data quality, integrity, governance, and compliance across all stages of data processing
- Work with Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures, including Bronze/Silver/Gold layers and dimensional modeling (Star Schema, Delta Tables)
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues across data pipelines and cloud infrastructure
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align data solutions with business and technical requirements
- Contribute to roadmap planning, technical decision-making, and architecture evolution for data platforms
- Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, IT, or related fields
- Solid experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar senior data-focused role
- Strong proficiency in SQL and Python/PySpark
- Hands-on experience with Azure Databricks (workflows, jobs, Delta Lake, queries)
- Experience with Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Cloudera ecosystem (Hive, Impala, HDFS)
- Strong knowledge of ETL/ELT pipelines and dimensional data modeling
- Experience designing and working with Data Lake and Data Warehouse architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD practices applied to data engineering workflows
- Knowledge of data governance, data quality, and cloud cost optimization (FinOps concepts)
- Ability to work in dynamic environments with evolving or unclear requirements
