This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for an Azure Data Engineer based in India.

This role focuses on building and optimizing modern cloud-based data engineering solutions within the Microsoft Azure ecosystem. You will design and maintain scalable data pipelines that support analytics, reporting, and business intelligence initiatives across enterprise environments. Working in a fully remote setup, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure reliable data ingestion, transformation, and storage using tools like Azure Data Factory, Synapse, and Databricks. The position offers exposure to large-scale data platforms, migration projects, and advanced analytics workflows. You will play a key role in improving data availability, performance, and governance across distributed systems. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced data engineer to contribute to impactful cloud transformation initiatives.

Accountabilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory, Synapse Analytics, and related services
  • Build and optimize data processing workflows using PySpark, Databricks, and distributed computing frameworks
  • Manage data ingestion, transformation, and storage in Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2 environments
  • Support database migration activities to Azure platforms and ensure data integrity during transitions
  • Develop advanced SQL/T-SQL queries for data extraction, transformation, and reporting
  • Collaborate with analytics and business teams to deliver high-quality data solutions
  • Monitor and optimize data pipeline performance, reliability, and scalability
  • Ensure adherence to data governance, security, and best practices across platforms
  • Requirements:

    • 7–11 years of experience in Data Engineering or related roles
    • Strong hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Synapse, ADLS Gen2, and Databricks
    • Proficiency in PySpark, Scala, and distributed data processing frameworks
    • Strong SQL and T-SQL skills with experience in performance tuning and optimization
    • Experience in Azure database migration projects is highly preferred
    • Familiarity with Hadoop, Hive, or Talend (as legacy or secondary tools) is a plus
    • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and ETL/ELT pipelines
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
    • Ability to work independently in a remote, fast-paced environment
    • Good communication skills for collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders
