Technical Leader, Infrastructure and Operations
Google's software engineers develop the next-generation technologies that change how billions of users connect, explore, and interact with information and one another. Our products need to handle information at massive scale, and extend well beyond web search. We're looking for engineers who bring fresh ideas from all areas, including information retrieval, distributed computing, large-scale system design, networking and data storage, security, artificial intelligence, natural language processing, UI design and mobile; the list goes on and is growing every day. As a software engineer, you will work on a specific project critical to Google’s needs with opportunities to switch teams and projects as you and our fast-paced business grow and evolve. We need our engineers to be versatile, display leadership qualities and be enthusiastic to take on new problems across the full-stack as we continue to push technology forward.
The PDEIO (Platforms and Devices Engineering Infrastructure and Operations) Web on Android team is a critical pillar within the Android ecosystem. Our mission is to make the operating system easy to change, hard to break, and highly efficient to ship. We sit at the intersection of OS-level infrastructure and web technology, partnering directly with the Android Framework WebView team to ensure the web platform on Android is fast, stable, and developer-friendly.
We build high-fidelity benchmarking tools, automated triage systems, and release-blocking test suites. We collaborate horizontally across the Android platform and vertically with the WebView/Chromium developers. We value automation over manual toil, AI-driven tooling solutions and tight feedback loops that allow developers to build, test and ship code with confidence.
The Platforms and Ecosystems product area encompasses Google's various computing software platforms across environments (desktop, mobile, applications). The products provide enterprises, and ultimately end users, the ability to utilize and manage their services at scale. We build innovative and compelling software products—from apps to TVs, from laptops to phones—that have an impact on people’s lives across the world.Minimum qualifications:
